1) You really shouldn't say Bull on a public dicussion board; you could get banned here too.

2) I am sure that VMK would ban you for more than just saying hi. If you try the contact us page, you may get a reason as to why you got banned.

I am sorry, but there is a very big difference between here and My Space. Night and day to be honest. And My Space is under a giant microscope right now in terms of child predators. It has been on the news, in papers, everywhere.

Ok as far as child predators, but in the same sense you can still give personal information out on both sites so that is the same and that is what I got banned for give out personal information in the form of saying my space.

I agree with you Sassy....people can give out the same information on a message board as they can on myspace. I got into a discussion about this with one member on another board one time to prove I could find out info about her by simply using her posts on the board (she believed myspace was more dangerous). Through the board and ONLY the board, I found out exactly where she lived, the name, address, and phone number of where she worked, what hours she worked, the names and birthdays of everyone in her family including a couple of foster children she had, and much more. You'd be surprised at just how a little bit of information can go a long way...even when you THINK you're playing it safe. And yet people are concerned about myspace.... Not that people shouldn't be concerned with myspace, but the danger isn't only there.

Anyway, that's a moot point. It seems like there's more going on than just saying "hi" on VMK. It's possible they banned you for something that happened prior to you just logging on and saying hi, but that was the first opportunity to activate it.

On the myspace issue (I know this getting off topic) I don't think Myspace's bad name came from the ability to give out information. It's just right now that's where predetors are going a lot, so it gets in the news alot so people are more concerned about it right now. I know predetors go everywhere, but Myspace predetors have made the news a lot.

Anyway on the banning there must have been something else. Have you contacted VMK on the reason you were banned?
