This is Crazy - the system won't let me select the points I wish to use 7 months out!

I own at several resorts. This morning I tried to make a reservation at BCV WITHIN THE 7 MONTH WINDOW using my OKW points but the system doesn't allow any choice of which points I can use - the system only showed my BVC points (which I don't even have enough of to complete the reservation) so it then asked me to borrow from my 2017 BVC points.

Since I'm in the 7 month window, I want to use my 2016 OKW points (which I have enough to complete the reservation). Quite frankly, I'm saving my BCV points for another vacation where I will need my 11 month window to make sure I get the reservation. Do I have to wait until 9 pm to call in the reservation and will the cast member give me the same hard time. I'm within the 7 month window - can't I use whatever points I choose?????

It may be a glitch with the online booking and you will probably have to call member services to see what's up.
 
Well that's one very unprofessional and unfair glitch! What if my reservation is gone by the time 9 'clock comes? What if I have to go to work now and can't say on hold any longer so I'll have to wait till this afternoon to talk to them????

If it's a website issue you are feeling the frustration cause by a company who doesn't seem to care. Talking to a MS advisor recently they are also frustrated with the lack of information from Disney and software that has problems.

This is odd. This morning, I went in to see about adding a couple of days to our trip in early June 2016. Like the OP, I was looking for days within the seven month window at one of my home resorts (BLT). Unlike the OP, I had no problem selecting the contract I wanted to use. The system showed all seven deeds that I own and it allowed me to prioritize which deeds I wanted to draw the points from.
 
I'm curious if you got it straightened out and what the CM said. Did they also have a problem or was it a glitch?

What days are you trying to book? Are all your resorts under the same membership and use year?

What time were you trying to do this? Was it right at the 7 month window?
 
Are you trying to book for June 10? That's the 7 month window for today.

I'm confused. The timestamp on the post I've quoted is 9:13am eastern time so MS was already open at the time the OP posted this, unless there is also a glitch on the DISboards.

OP: To help us help you, what is your check-in date? I've seen many posts where people were off by one day when trying to book.

OP: Another thought, are you trying to add nights to an existing BCV reservation with OKW points? If so, is the first night you are adding on June 10th or earlier?

Just thinking that maybe you already have a BCV reservation starting on June 10th for some number of nights and are trying to add nights on to the end of it. If so, you have to wait until the 7-month window opens for the first additional night in order to use non-home points.

Another thought, were you trying to book a reservation starting June 10th but were online prior to 8am eastern time?
 
Yes, apparently it was just some kind of glitch. Member services had no problem taking very good care of me - I got to use the points I wanted for the resort I wanted at the 7 month window. It was just a bit annoying that I had to wait until after 9 am to do it right!

We have a contract with same UY, two different resorts. Tried to use the points from SSR to book at the more sought resort, at 7 months. The CM cancelled previously booked nights at that sought resort to consolidate the nights together. It was a painful experience! I'm still unsure why this was done and, more so, HOW it managed to work out.

Glitch? No way, not Disney. :confused3:rotfl:

I love WDW; I love DVC; and I'm even known to drink the Kool-Aid and sniff the pixie dust, but when it comes to Disney and their websites I am beyond belief over their incompetence to get it right. :sad2::headache:
 
GLITCH!!!! Is that the same GLITCH THAT STOLE CHRISTMAS. Boy does that GLITCH get around.
