Just how hot is it where you are???

We here, in the Northeast, (home of the NEMP) New England Mouse Patrol, for those of you not keeping up......GO BEAUTYLLM!!!.....are not used to this kind of weather. It topped 100 degrees today and the LOW for last evening was 80 degrees. Now, I'm not a complainer, a whiner, maybe, but not a complainer.......but, when you're allergic to air conditioning, this weather kind of gets under your skin, if you know what I mean.

So.....just how hot is it, where you are??

It's so Hot in Nebraska that..........

the birds have to use potholders to pull worms from the ground.

farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.

the cows are giving evaporated milk.

the trees are whistling for the dogs.

you no longer associate bridges or rivers with water.

you learn that in July, it takes only two fingers to drive a car.

hot water comes out of both taps.

the best parking space is determined by shade and not distance.

its noon in mid-July, the kids are out of school, and not one person is on the streets.

you break a sweat the instant you set foot outside the door at 7:30 AM.

no one would dare to put vinyl upholstery in a car.

you realize asphalt has a liquid state.

you actually burn your hand on the car door.

your biggest bicycle fear is: What if I wreck, get knocked out and end up laying on the pavement cooking to death?

Right now it's 97 degrees at Laguardia Airport-about 15 minutes from my house by car. It hit 103 today in Manhattan. Yesterday in New Jersey somebody put unbaked cookies on a car dashboard & they cooked on their own. It's days like this that I'm tempted to move to the Yukon.

I'm in Palm Springs CA where it is normally over 100 this time of year. At work today, they put up a thermometer for the outside temp. It was 107 at 2pm but the humidity made it?

This morning on the way to work it was 86 - so I knew we would be in trouble.

I believe it went up to at least 100 with a heat index much higher.

It is cooler in Florida - go figure.
