That was from the expo and it's $2900 not including the cost of the actual cake.

Seriously?! Wow. I mean it's darn pretty, but I'm not sure it's nearly $3k pretty... :scratchin

That was the conversation I had to have in my head, Ember. :)

I was like..."Hmm....not edible....that's a problem." Seriously, I probably would have seriously considered making $3,000 room in my budget for the cake, IF it were edible. It's not though...and I am super looking forward to demolishing a cake at my wedding. If I can't eat it, it's not worth it.

That is absolutely gorgeous and it matches the look and color of my wedding perfectly so I'm super tempted by it. Hmmm.... 3k is a lot though, but it's so pretty!

What do you mean it's not edible? I thought it was just a cool projection onto a cake. You can't actually eat the cake?!

We are having that cake no matter the cost, lol. What do you mean it isn't edible? It is cake with that projected on it. It is just a plain white tiered cake.

The cake is edible. The projection cost is a separate fee of 2.9k. You have to pay for the cake in addition to the 2.9k is my understanding. Soooo very pretty, very expensive cake!

I was told that the first two tiers are edible but the rest is fake. Chances are you will need to order sheet cake for the rest of the guest or have another cake.

I'm just going off of what I was told by people on the DisBrides Facebook. I had heard, too, that you could get part of it to be edible--but not the whole thing.
I unfortunately wasn't there this past weekend in person, so I've only seen the AMAZING video.

That said, it looks like you COULD do all cake....Disney filed a patent to be able to do the stuff.

I asked my planner about it the price is 2900 it includes the set up, the lighting and a fake 5 tier cake. The cake can be real but it must be 5 tiers for the quality of the projection. You can have 3 real tiers and 2 fake tiers which is what she is looking into now for me. As soon as i get the price on that i'll share.

Is this exclusive to WDW fairytale wishes wedding events?
Or, can it be done on DCL weddings or Aulani weddings?
Our planner did not know and is trying to find out

On the Disney blog they said right now that it's exclusive to WDW Wishes weddings currently. Disney filed a patent on the technology, so I would assume they will expand the offerings in the future.

Yes I was told by the woman at the cake at the expo that you can have all edible cake but it must be 5 tiers. So if you only have 2 or 3 tiers of edible cake the rest would be fake for you.

My planner got back to me as of now the cake has to be fake. Reason being the setup takes 6 hours and they cannot have a real cake sitting out for that long. What she told me they are going to do is have two half sheet cakes for the guest (this way I can still have two flavors) and give us a complementary 6 inch cake for the cutting. They also have to ask epcot to close the AAR early to do the set up. We are waiting to hear back to see if the park will go for it. I think I'm going to have the fake cake but keep my real 3 tier cake because they don't seem to have all the logistics figured out, and I don't want to be stuck with a plan white fake cake on my wedding day.

The 2900 doesn't include the customization promoted in the video. It's only for the design showed at the expo (or maybe they have a handful of designs?), which is beautiful, but has already been seen by so many people, since the video went viral.
