This is a really good, but still new, feeling!

We just got home from a wedding reception where they served fresh fruit and cheesecake. I planned on getting just the fruit on the buffet but found when I got up there the cheesecake was already served on the plates so I had to take one of those to get the fruit. (Thinking about it now I probably could have asked for a plain plate but didn't think of it then.) So anyway I got the smallest piece of cheesecake I could find and got some fruit. I decided I would have a few nibbles of the cake since I had some banked points. I took about 5 small bites of the cake and decided to stop there, leaving well over half the piece on the plate.

I hope it doesn't sound like I'm tooting my own horn but its such a new and foreign feeling to be in CONTROL of my eating and to DECIDE to eat some cake and not eat it because the temptation was too great and I couldn't resist. I offered the rest to my daughter but she didn't want it so I just left the rest.

I never thought I'd reach this point, and I know I'll still have setbacks but to pass this challenge is awesome for me. (And just this morning I was thinking Leslie Sansone's hair swirled like a cinnamon bun on top of her head so I haven't totally gotten past the point of thinking of food inappropriately!!)

I am so thrilled to be a part of WISH. I KNOW its played a major role in making my weight loss successful this time around.

That is so great, Liz!! Isn't it wonderful to be able to have that control over your food now!! I find it amazing, myself!! Good for you and Congratulations on getting through the dessert part of the wedding!! :)

That Leslie Sansone comment....... TOO FUNNY!!!!:p

It really is a wonderful feeling to be in control of your own self isn't it? Every time I crave or want seomthing I really shouldn'tr eat, I do what I can to distract myself and afterwards so pleased that I was able to side step the teptation once more. The funny thing is, once you've done that, it just kind of keeps snowballing. You can't let yourself down the next time, so you keep going!

CONGRATULATIONS on the big accomplishment

Liz, I am so very proud of you! You decided what to do, and you did it! You were in control and made some great decisions!

Yea, Liz!! Good for you! Being in control of what you eat is a wonderful feeling, isn't it? Hurray for you! It will become more and more natural as you go along, but that first experience is something else!! :teeth: (We need a clapping smilie.)

Imagine they are tooting horns! (closest I could find :))

You should toot your horn! I do! Those are the moments that build up our strength to get through the next tempation!

Way to Go!!! I think it's awesome! Cheesecake is such a major tempation!!!

Liz, I'm really proud of the control you've discovered! Doesn't it feel GOOD?

Your progress has been steady, and you've made huge changes in your life. And now you know you have the tools to continue this way for life! You can enjoy social occasions and meals out without trepidation, because the food just isn't that big a deal!

I think tooting your horn with excitement would be completely appropriate, but I also respect your restraint.:p

I'm REALLY proud of you. I know how hard you've worked to achieve these changes. :)
