Congrats to Ally on the solo! I know exactly how you feel when you say she amazes you. My 15 year old sings in A Capella choir and musicals at school and it never ceases to amaze me how brave and talented he is!

I LOVE the outfit! That fabric is just adorable. Can your mom make one appropriate for a 40 year old woman?

I saw the Star Wars pics on FB. It looks like you guys had a great time! Brent looks so exctied!

Thank you!! Oh wow!! I love hearing an a capella choir! Just hearing all of the harmonies minus the music just gives me chills!! Hee hee!! My mom has made some things for herself like a quilted jacket, etc. We had a fabulous time! Now it's 2 days!! Whoo hoo!!

I have to admit, I have absolutely no idea what a Star Wars concert is. I'm very interested in your review of it!

Here's a link to the article. Apparently it's only a strong rumor at this point, but like I said, I'm not surprised by it. I'm sure it's true. The only thing that makes me think that it might not happen is that Le Cellier is so close to Bistro de Paris, which is another Signature Dining location. They might not want two in such close proximity to each other. That's the only roadblock I can really see.

Yeah--not sure I'm surprised either about Le Cellier. I'm glad we get to eat there next Friday when it's 1 TS! It still stinks, though!!

Go Ally! What an exciting week this has been for her! A solo, awards, finishing kindergarten...wow! And to end the week with a trip to Disney! I bet you are one very proud mom - it just shows what a great job you're doing raising your girls! Hope you and Brent had fun at the Star Wars musical!

I LOVE THE OUTFITS!!!!!! They will for sure get tons of attention!! It seems like everyone is heading to WDW this week/weekend. One of my kiddos at school is there now and one is leaving Sunday and another one the following week!

First off--I preordered my Photopass cd yesterday!! Whoo hoo!! Splitting the cost with my parents is a plus--that's for sure!!

So Brent and I went to Star Wars in Concert Tuesday night!! We headed to downtown Memphis and ate an early dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe!! It was very yummy!! I had grilled chicken covered in twisted mac & cheese and Brent got a hamburger! (the pics of the evening were all taken on my cell phone--please excuse the poor quality)

We stopped by Starbucks for some coffee and then we headed to the Fed Ex Forum (where the Grizzlies play basketball). The doors opened at 6:00 p.m. for a pre-show exhibit. They had all of the different costumes displayed as well as paintings and things from the movies.

The concert started at 7:30 p.m. and it was AMAZING!!! I thought I would be bored but they had this huge orchestra along with a chorus--and lasers and they even had the guy that played C3PO narrating the show! WOW--the narration was incredible as well as the music!! They played songs from the movies and had scenes/pictures from the movies up on this HUGE screen as the music played. Very impressive!!

Then yesterday morning was Ally's Kindergarten Recognition! They marched onto the stage, did the Pledge of Allegiance, and then sang 3 songs (led by the music teacher).

Then their PE teacher led them into this thing where they named off the bones of the body--doing motions for each--it was VERY entertaining!!

Then they sat down and the diplomas were given out by the principal as their teacher called their names.

Then the librarian and the principal gave out the Top Reader awards for each class!

Then the principal spoke and that's where I lost it!! She talked about how time passes so quickly and how we should cherish each moment with our kids!! It was very emotional for me!! Then we were dismissed to the gym for a reception. But first I had to go to Ally's classroom to pick her up and sign her out.

Then we spent the day with my parents and Brent's mom. Then we came home and I started packing!! I got most of the girl's things packed while Brent's mom ironed all of the clothes I was packing.

I even packed panties in the bag for each day!

Both Ally & Claire's outfit for the day is in the bag. This worked well last year--no deciding the morning of who is going to wear what! AND Brent can grab a bag and help dress the girls without having to ask questions about this and that! A BIG timesaver!!

Today I'm working on packing my things and all the little things that have to go!!

TWO days!!! Can't wait!!!!

Star Wars in Concert? How fun! Sounds like something we would like to do. My DH is a big Star Wars fan, too!

And the big Kindergarten recognition! Congrats to Ally!

What a great idea to pack everything in baggies. I usually just fold shirt with the shorts for the day. But my kids are dressing themselves now, so it doesn't really take that long...they are usually ready before me in the mornings!

That concert sounds like fun! I remember when Memphis got it's HRC. We had one in Austin for a couple of years, but they closed it. I guess in Austin, everyone supports local businesses and doesn't like chains.

My DH would love that concert! He loves Star Wars too. That "I Believe in Fairies" outfit is just precious. Ally and Claire have to be getting so excited! I love your idea for the zip lock bags. That way if anything would spill in your luggage your clothes would be safe. We don't have kids yet but I might do that with my outfits. Thanks for the tip!

Wow Becky - you are so organised! I thought I was pretty good but am seriously lacking compared to you! I did a spreadsheet the last time we went with a list of what we and Amber were wearing every day down to our jewellery and hair accessories! I must be honest though I am extremely tempted by the plastic bags! Did you think they took up more room in your case?? I have got to get 3 weeks worth of outfits in our suitcases!!!

Love the idea of outfits in a bag! That is just so clever. I love planning out our outfits ahead of time (I have 4 months to go and I already know what we're wearing). Also, if anything were to burst or open in your suitcase (like hair product/lotion/etc) the girl's clothes will be protected.

I am so impressed with the outfits packed in individual bags. I've read about people who do that here. I think we went through two outfits a day since it was so hot and we had to take midday pool breaks! At least it's more fun to do laundry on vacation since you can do a load and wait for it by the pool!
