We got back from THV last Sat. after a wonderful week. Just a couple of things that occurred that had never happened in our 11+ DVC trips. We checked in after 6pm on Sat. 11/7. We realized on Sunday morning there were no extra trash bags in any of the rubbish cans and no extra toilet paper ( just what was on the roll in each bathroom) and no hair dryer in the second bathroom. I always bring a few extra trash bags with me but we called housekeeping to request trash bags, toilet paper and a hairdryer. They said they had no hair dryers but quickly brought the other supplies. I called again on Monday about the hair dryer and they did bring a brand new one. Tues was our trash and towel day and they they took all of the toilet paper again! We had to call housekeeping again. Just a little bizarre! We have never had to request toilet paper. There were 6 of us in the THV so 2 1/2 rolls wouldn't have cut it! Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

I wonder if people are taking extra toilet rolls, bags with them. I'm amazed at some public restrooms along the highways that have locks on the toilet paper. Some people may think the extra ones are freebies for them to take.

That's not happened to us so far, there usually is at least an extra roll in each bathroom, when I've checked.

Bobbi:goodvibes

actually...........
we ran out of toilet paper in our BWV studio twice over our 8 night stay in oct (there was only 2 people in room, & we didn't have any <ahem> intestinal issues  or anything like that).
we noticed that there wasn't a back-up roll when we first arrived, nor did they leave one during full cleaning or t&t. there was an extra box of kleenex, thank goodness (first time we asked the maid for more .& she gave dh one roll for a $5 tip...2nd time, i just took one off one the cart b/c there was no one around to ask for it.).

maybe dvc is considering a TP surcharge & testing it out at the resorts?

When it was our trash and towel day, the housekeeper didn't leave any extra toilet paper, even though it was obvious that we were at the end of the roll. I called down and asked for more, and they brought us three rolls. I still can't figure out their logic sometimes. :confused3

That really DOES sound strange! Almost like maybe the room was never cleaned (??):scared1:
I usually pack a few of all that stuff (and mostly TP since the stuff from home is 'friendlier') but there has always been a start up supply of all those items when we've checked in.
Is this a sign of the times that we need to leave a supply check list on T&T day?

We've not had any issues that severe but we have noticed a gradual decline in the quality of housekeeping over our last few visits. We assumed DVC was trying to get by with a skeleton crew which has been having an adverse effect on the quality we've come to expect on our visits.

We always bring our own TP. The ones at Disney are bad very rough. We drive so I am always bringing my TP in the room with us. One time we stayed in POP on our nite of arrival and I left the roll of TP behind by mistake. The kids were young and asked what happened to the TP. I told them the maid took it:rotfl2:So it has become a joke in our family when they are coming for T & T we always say hide the toilet paper, so the maid doesn't take it. We are a crazy bunch:rotfl:

recently stayed at BWV and OKW. Didn't have any issues at BWV but at OKW we were in a dedicated 2 BR and didn't have any extra toilet paper in either bathroom. We called and they brought two rolls over plus left more when they did trash & towel a couple of days later.

We thought it was odd, too.

I'm glad to know we're not the only ones who bring our own TP. The only difference is that we fly, and before they used Xray machines at the airport to check our luggage, we used to get very strange looks from the screeners when they opened our luggage, and there was the TP roll right on top (Hey, might need it as soon as we get to the room). On the last trip, I didn't bring TP and after a week of DVC's, I couldn't sit well for days. What's ironic is that the rest room in the lobby of the BC had the softest, quilted TP. I'm thinking that cheap TP might be one of DVC's "cost savings" moves. On my last solo trip, mousekeeping kept me so well supplied with DVC sandpaper, I mean TP, that at the end of the stay, I had 3 unopened rolls in my studio. And no, I didn't take them!

:rotfl: Plus how 'bout those "GREEN" towels to dry one's hands with!
Sometimes I stuff a couple in my bag just to have a few extra clean ones in the villa (but I DO NOT take them home!) :)

I'm sure there was a meeting somewhere and a few bean counters put their great minds together and decided that they could save a few bucks by cutting back on TP. The sad thing is when this becomes the norm at our "luxury" resorts.

Did mousekeeping refuse to give you TP until you gave her the tip? I would definately report that:rolleyes1

Idea: Let's all start making TP animals for our Mousekeepers;)

Funny we stayed during the same time period at the BWV and we had PLENTY of toilet paper, they must have put everyone's rolls in our two bedroom.

I guess the naysayers are correct. DVC is taking away all the perks. pirate:

showers are next, odd room numbers take showers on odd days of the week and even rooms get there shower turned on on even days of the week :lmao: :rotfl2: and the next week , that's when a FOR SALE 400points sign goes on my property. :thumbsup2

oh, not at all....
dh just asked for tp as he handed her a five. normally, that would have also gotten him a long list of "more shampoo? conditioner? soap? tissue? take some more towels...would you like my first born?"
(okay, kidding on the last one, but you get the gist ;))

never thought tp would become a luxury item rather than a simple neccessity :confused3

Wow.. when we go with our party of ten, I hope they do not skimp on the TP. Most of our party is going to be small kids...smjj
