How would you like a vacation in a place where you don't have to deal with many other tourists. Well, Don Lucey has a deal for you. You too can tour Iraq! He's taking a group in September and he's even taking his 16 year old daughter along!

Ummm, no thank you. I'll stick with our planned to trip to Disney World. I prefer vacations where the local don't try to kidnap or shoot me.

Here's the link to the CNN story:

Can someone even get a tourist visa to Iraq? I know civilians have gotten into the country but unless they're there for work and sponsored by a company doing business there it's been tough to get in.

too much time on his hands.

I think I'll wait a few years to take the trip. My DS is over there now and has said many times he would like to go back sometime to visit because there is so much history there, Now is just not the time to make the trip.

you think this guy and his merry tourist would drop off some goody boxes for me? Save me some postage ;)

Gee, if I wasn't saving for Disney.....NOT! Why would anyone go to a country where people are being kidnapped and beheaded??

I agree with the how can he even get VISA's question. I think it is really inappropriate. He can put his life in danger and anyone who wants to sign up but a 16 yr old. that is child abuse. I also think that our troops have enough on their hands, they can't be dealing with stay americans, what if a soldier is killed because the tourists do something stupid.

At least he is getting out to see the rest of the world.

Thats an idea! Remember that mom that went over to see how her DS was doing??? Kinda reminds me of that.

Isn't Iraq one of the restricted areas? Yep, I can't see how they can just take a trip there. I guess they want an "adventure" trip, but they better not be crying if they were captured by enemies. They may be shortening their lives, is that what they want?

As tempting it would be just to see dh....

I don't think so
