OMG.....I think I would have started to twitch if anyone ever asked me that.

I went to Universal about 10 years ago (not long after Islands of Adventure opened) and we had fun doing IoA one day and the studios the next. However, I have had no desire to get back there. The Harry Potter section looks like it's worth a side trip one day......but it's probably going to be years before we get there. I'm only two years into my DVC ownership and I need to try out all of the DVC resorts first!

I am the Disney expert in the family and the office. I love helping plan vacations for friends and family. I usually do a Disney vacation and then the "other" parks vacation. Now we are DVC members, that is going to be hard. Doing a Mother and son Disney vacation in 2 weeks then the big family Disney vacation in August. Now sister is talking about going to SeaWorld just to ride Manta. Hate to break it to her but she is on her own in that one. She has forgotten how Disney will just utilize the whole week with theme parks and water parks, let alone relaxing by the pool.

Does your DSis realize how much a one day one park ticket at SeaWorld costs? Maybe $79 for an adult, that's a lot of money to ride one roller coaster. Of course, I want to ride it too but not at that price. It would have to be a full day at SeaWorld for me, but I too don't want to give up any days at WDW. So that means WDW wins!

I am very disney-biased.... we really enjoy US and IOA (especially Hulk, Spiderman and Mummy)... but really, we are Disney people! We are getting AP's in december and are trying to get 4 trips between Dec 4th, 2010 and Dec 9th, 2011... So there will be no Universal for us until at least 2012... and we are fine with that!

When most people I work with start discussing Disney, I usually have to resist the urge to smack them upside the head. I will offer advice *when asked*, but I've found that most people think they have it all figured out so unsolicited advice goes in one ear and out the other. Still, hearing about their mis-adventures when they come home isn't too bad...

I totally agree Crystal - I also love when they do not follow any of your advice and come home to complain about their trip and how chaotic it was

I walk a mile every morning with my dear friend. She is in the planning stages of her Oct trip! I've tried to cover everything she could possibly need to know. After telling her everything she needs to know in a nutshell she says wow that's a lot!

I said yup..that's why WDW guide books are 500 pages long!

My family looks at me like I have 3 heads when I go into 'vacation plan' mode. We are taking my sister and 5 yr old niece for their first trip in June. I fear they my sis is much like OP's co-worker I think the concept can be hard to wrap your mind around until you actually see it for yourself. But the comment still made me laugh

To help people understand, I tell them that Disney World is 47 square miles.

When I read that (a while back) it really brought home how big it is. Especially when I compared it to my town, and realized that WDW's property is bigger than Tacoma WA. I certainly haven't walked through 4 parks worth of Tacoma, not even including space for waterparks! It was a really helpful bit of info, especially once I personalized it by comparing it to where I live.

Yep I just ask em how the trip went and smile. I felt sorry on the Boards a while back...one of the "first timers" was trying to figure out how to jog from All Stars to MK. She didn't realize that the other posters where being sarcastic. I sent her a PM and explained that the resorts where larger than anything she could imagine and that WDW was the size of Manhattan. I told her that she could jog, because there were sidewalks but that unless she was training for a marathon, the bus would take her to MK. She thanked me.

Disney always wins. She can go if she wants but I am staying put.
