So, me and the DF want an October 2011 date. What, how, and how far out did you start planning things? I want to get on the ball with everything but Im not sure how to do it all without my places, guest count, and dates set in stone. What did you all do? When did you start planning/putting stuff together? What did you start on first, etc..thanks for your help! I feel like theres so much to do, but Im stuck because of Disney's timeline. Thanks again.

Well DH and I started planning our VR in the summer of 2009... for Feb 2011!
That is when we first ordered our info packet and started to figure out budget, timelines, guest counts, etc. :rotfl:

So then we called DFTW around August 2009 since we would be visiting in September and wanted a site visit, we were told that it would be fine since we would be at exactly 18 months out then.

And so it started.
Now we are past the year mark and we are already confirmed for our date and locations and just waiting for our LOA in June :cool1:

So you can confirm your date and your locations at 12 months for a wishes? I thought it was like an 18, 12, 8, 6 month type thing..ahhh?!?!?!

You can confirm at 12 months, depending on which locations you want you can actually sign and send your deposit at 1 year out.
We want locations at the GF so we have to wait until 8 months out, this is because conferences have first dibs for space in the GF conference center, so we have to wait to make sure they don't want to claim any of the spaces we want before we get it all finalized.

Heck I'm planning for a June 2012 wedding and I've already started planning:lmao: My friend that is getting married this June has been planning for 1 year and 10 months and is still doing last minute things. So I don't feel so bad when I'm not getting married until 2012 but I have started to get ideas and started doing things and have actually bought my dress!! We went shopping just to look and get an idea of what I like and ended up going back to the first store and buying the dress because I LOVED it and didn't want it to get discountinued. I say the more things I get done now the less I'll do before the wedding!!

Oh and I have my site visit scheduled next Friday April 2nd? Don't know why I got to go so early but I told them I wanted to come to look at different sites and make sure this is really where I want.

I've started planning for October 2011. We are planning off site wedding though. Hoping to book Randy chapman for photography and a wishes cruise.

Hello DisBrides!

We are planning for December 2011 and we have our site visit scheduled at the end of this May (already booked trip and scheduled with planner months ago). So I don't think it's too early for planning at all! Don't be afraid to plan if you want to. It's a fun process and I think should be enjoyed. Go for it now if you want. :)

Hi,

My hubby and I decided to start planning at the 11 month mark (Feb.2010), that's when we called Disney and had our consultant assigned to us, he helped us reserve the venue's and make an the appointment for our planning session in July. First things I did was to book the officiant, the photographer and purchase my wedding dress. After, I started putting together pics of flowers, themes, decor ideas, etc. Now, I actually bought my wedding shoes and hairpiece and I'm just waiting for my consultant in May to send me the LOA.
