This Easter Busiest In 5 Years?

We're going down Mar 31-April 9. That has a few days of the week after Easter, but the majority is the week after the week after Easter. Will this time be just as busy as Easter?

Hippychickali - So you're saying that in Canada, all businesses are closed on Good Friday and the Monday after Easter? (Since you're saying not just teachers and students.) Wow....we don't get that at all over here. Some business close a half-day on Good Friday, but that's about it. Hence I see where there is some confusion.

You don't get time off for Easter! :scared1: And they call America "the Christian country". Yes. Good Friday and Easter Monday are statutory holidays in Canada. Some businesses may be open on Mondy but definitely none on Friday. No government departments are opened on either of those days. Am I wrong to assume that we are not the only place that does this? It may sound like a good deal but we don't get all of these other little holidays you guys down south seem to celebrate. And we certainly don't get a week off for Thanksgiving! Easter isn't a vacation in my line of work anyway so I don't have to ever worry about the crowds at WDW then.

i am shaking with fear about what im hearing we are wdw vets and should handle it do you think crowds will clear out after easter we are going march 26-31

We're hitting WDW too! Our first trip for Easter. MK till 3AM???? YOU BETCHA!!!
As for crowds after Easter week...I'd have to say that they will begin to thin out about the end of the weekend (4/2-3) I'm there for the duration and crowds are nothing if you know how to plan it

We were there Thanksgiving week, and we will be there March 16-21st for our anniversary. Crowds did not bother us at all that week, and they won't this weekend either.

There is no need to worry at all if you have done your homework and know the system. In fact I am doubtful it will be that bad, here is my proof..I called yesterday for a PS on sunday March 20th at a very popular restaurant, got the EXACT TIME I wanted to eat. Now that is less than two weeks away, so that tells me something right there...

I am going to WDW over Palm Sunday, no cares no worries about crowds I am going to go and enjoy myself and if a few other folks are there too..that is ok with me.. :sunny:

From above:

Response:

The parks will be extremely crowded from Monday, March 21, through Friday, April 1 -- there will not be and has never been any relief from the Easter crowd during the week that begins with Easter; it is a two week marathon (week before and week of), always has been, always will be. But if you are vet, you should be able to survive and still enjoy. It will be very crowded, but not quite to the Easter crowd level, March 19-20 and April 2. On April 2 the Easter crowd will start to leave and you will notice a difference on that day; it will clear out almost completely by Sunday, April 3. April 4 on will feel like Easter never happened.

Also, for those who have previously been "Thanksgiving." Thanksgiving is like off-season when compared to the crowds at Easter.

Well, we don't really get a week off for Thanksgiving either! Thanksgiving is the national holiday. Lots of offices close the day after, but most other business (stores as a prime example) are up and running, even busier than usual.

Sure there are lots of Christians in the U.S., and it has been a predominantly Christian culture. However, there has been less national emphasis on Christian events as this nation strives toward equality for all. (I hope I'm not starting a debate with this comment. I'm just trying to voice an explanation.)

Looking at my DVC point chart - the two highest prime seasons at WDW are the two weeks surrounding Easter and the week between Christmas and New Year's.

I see they officially announced the EMH each morning at MK for all the days following easter. Think they may expand any of the other parks the same way? pirate: pirate:
