This doctor REALLY has his act together

As I am sure you all know, we've been through many doctor's offices recently! Yesterday was Dennis' first chemo treatment and before it started, we had a quick visit with the doctor who is handling this end of things. After reviewing all the recent lab work, running through what we can expect, we were ready to get things started. Before we left though, he asked if we would mind if he said a prayer for us! Not only did this prayer include Dennis and his battle, the doctor included himself in this prayer, asking God to guide him in making all the right decisions in Dennis' care.

It was nice to see a doctor who knows that they can only do so much, a great part in a patient's return to good health comes from the Man upstairs.

They are but mere mortals after all and medicine not being an exact science....much of what happens comes from a much higher being!!

Wow!! That is wonderful. That is one heck of a great, caring doctor. I'm sure there are more of them out there like that but you very seldom hear of it. Best wishes to you and your family. I know what you're going through is such a difficult ordeal. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

How wonderful that the doctor felt comfortable enough with you to ask you that. It certainly sounds like he is a warm,caring doctor. I'll keep you and your husband in my prayers.

That's great! I'm starting to think it's something with Pennsylvanians! My grandmother lived there all her life. The night before my C-section, I called her. She said she was praying for me, baby, and my doctor!! Thanks, Grandma! Since then I do the same thing as well as the nursing staff involved.

You know Colleen, you really did make the right decision going with this medical group and this doctor. Many doctors I find lose faith due to their surroundings. It is a great blessing to you in this time of need for great faith to have someone who understands higher powers.

Our kids' pediatricains are Christians, and have always treated our kids like they are their own. Every time our daughter has to go in to the ER (usually for seizures) her favorite doctor (and one who sees her the most) gets as upset as if he was us. He's always SO glad when the other docs are on call when that happens.
We are also blessed to have such wonderful doctors.

When Megan has her feeding tube surgery last November her doctor did the same thing. It is nice to see doctors and especially surgons (no insult intended) pray and encourage others to do so for them. so many that we have come in contact with think that they are already god. And a doctor really goes out on a limb when they make that suggestion to a family because what if they don't believe.
