This can't be good for the iPhone 4

I don't feel my phone is an inferior product..... but if you do, you are able to return it for an unconditional refund and Apple will help you get out of your contract.

Seems to me like they are standing behind their product.

Standing behind their product would have meant

1) Not releasing the product with a KNOWN defect in the first place.
2) Not blaming it on (in this order)

a: You are holding your phone wrong
b: It's bad signal strength from AT&T and our software is showing bad bars
c: there is NO issue, it's all in your head
d: Okay we admit it, and here's a free bumper or refund

That's not standing behind your product. If it was not for the CR report, they would STILL be denying it.

I expect anything that i purchase for $800 to work 100%. i would even give them 90%. But for it to completely fail at the task it was designed for is inexcusable (especial now that it has come out that Jobs WAS aware of the issue).

I don't care.....

(sorry, couldn't help myself. I've watched they hilarious iPhone vs Evo video too many times)

Mine is working 100%.

If yours is not and you are unhappy with your $800 purchase, you should certainly not keep it. Apple is offering you a full refund.

To me, that is standing behind your product.

Kevin, to play devils advocate. Why is it that you pay more for the same service than others? Discuss.....

I work for a company that is Apple / Mac centric.

I Use Mobile Me to synchronize my iMac. MacBook, iPhone and iPad. My emails, calendar, schedule etc are all synched no matter on which device I enter the information.

I had a Palm Treo that I HATED and gave away as soon as humanly possible.

I tried the Blackberry and didnt care for it.

The iPhone...like the Mac...makes sense to me. It's a logical process that seems to follow the line my brain follows.

I had the original iPhone and upgraded to 3GS. I have now upgraded to iPhone 4 and I've loved each one.

I dont drop calls. The calls are clear. I like the interface. I like my camera, phone, iPod all in one device.

I can access eTicket and all of the pages I need to access for work

I've had many many cell phones and services throughout the years. With the iPhone and ATT I am able to make calls from pretty much anywhere. I've made calls from Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, California....never a single issue.

These are the things I came up with off the top of my head.

My iPhone works and works the way I want it to.

I'm in Illinois and the iphone 4 if my 1st iphone. My DS talked me into it and I'm very glad he did. Neither he nor I have had any issues with dropped calls. We both have the Zagg InvShield too. I haven't noticed any dead spots (except the middle of one store) like I had with my US Cellular service. I am a big fan of the iphone 4!

No. it is not.. it is finally admitting your culpability after undeniable proof of failure, rather than stepping up immedietly. I was willign to give Apple the benefit of the doubt until it was made known that Jobs KNEW this was an issue.

That explains much of your statement. You aren't drinking thekool-aid, you are helping prepare it.

For the record, i LOVE my 3GS. It's awesome. And it's Awesome for all the reasons you stated, but the MAIN reason it is awesome is because IT WORKS!

So you dont have an iPhone 4 to see if it works or not?

This seems to be a commonality among those doing the talking about this issue or non-issue.

My iPhone 4 WORKS great....and I dont have a case or a bumper.

Well , i have an Iphone 4 today.. i won't tommorow.
But i will have my 3Gs, and will stay with that until the Iphone 4.1 is released. That way i can hold it wrong and still have it work :)

My iPhone 4 works perfectly too. I understand there is one person on this thread who has an iPhone 4 he doesn't like and will be returning, but it seems like most of the other people making comments don't really have any first hand knowledge of the situation. Why do people who don't even have an iPhone 4 feel the need to rip them apart...and not just on these boards, seen it elsewhere on the Internet too.

Replace the word iPhone with xbox 369/ps3, PC/Mac, heck even Disney/Universal.
Such is life, as long as I'm happy with what I got I TRY to ignore the bickering (note TRY, sometimes I can't help myself and rise to the bait :lmao:)

:goodvibes

:sad2: Live on the MS Gulf Coast in my house and your Iphone 3GS will drop calls, too. 3 clicks and I am hanging up on you, especially if the call is 5 minutes or longer. Maybe it is all the oil? yeah that's the ticket...DH drinks the Koolaid. But I love him anyway.

Cellular South could have a new marketing slogan....Come to the dark side, we have service!!

I didn't like my Blackberry Curve and love the way the Iphone works, when it works. Why can't I have an Iphone and Cellular South, this is AMERICA!!

We do not have an iphone but we do have AT&T service and have never had a problem with it. No dropped calls or any other problem with it. I can even get service out in nowhere land. Food for thought maybe it is not the service but the phone you are using.

Also with any service you are going to have areas of blackout. No one telephone company owns towers in every single place. If you want service from any point on earth than you need to get satelite phone. That probably comes with its own set of problems though. As well as being expensive.

Exactly there are issues with pretty much everything at one time or another. Nothing in life is perfect. You have to make the best decision for yourself and not take it personal because someone else does not agree with you. That is why there are so many choices out there. If we were all alike life would be pretty boring.

Good or bad I am glad people post reviews because it allows me to be an informed consumer. Sometimes it can be hard to hear the bad if you already have your heart set on something but at least you are informed before you buy and know what to expect if you choose to go ahead and buy it anyway. I would rather be disappointed before spending the money than to find out the hard way that something major is wrong with the product. Esp. if it is a more expensive item.

No there was always a 30 day return policy, since day 1.

No kidding! This guy is nuts. I don't think that he has an iphone4 because he is acting like he has hated it the whole time and can only return it since the press conference. If you own an iPhone you would be aware of the refund with no restocking fee that has been in place for a while.

Also, apple did step up and fix this very fast. 22 days is lightspeed for a huge company to make a decision that will cost them millions and millions.

P.s. I bought three iPhones and the signal issue is a non issue for us. Proximity sensor is the only problem im having and that is not a deal breaker for me'.
