This bugs me..DVC Exclusive Pin

I'd send a note to member satisfaction. Fair complaint if the website doesn't ask for your DVC member # as part of the purchase.

I wrote disneystore.com ad their first reply was all about d23. 2nd reply was that you HAD to prove dvc membership to buy the pin..I told them you didn't and their reply was that they let mgmt know of this. I also sent a tweet to president of disney stores and he was looking into it.

Also bugged by the fact that a DVC member # wouldn't be required to purchase a DVC pin online when D23 members do have to enter their # online and AP, D23, and DVC members have to show their cards in person. Makes DVC feel a bit less exclusive than it should.
Yeah, most people that buy the pin probably are DVC members, but I guarantee there are non-members purchasing the pin(s) for the specific purpose of reselling them later, and that's annoying.
It's a minor detail in life, but glad some fellow members are bringing this to the attention of Disney mgmt.

yes, i think it's wrong. why not offer dvc to members no matter
where they're sold [ ie, disney stores]

... i got some @ the merry mixer. however, my kids were not impressed.
[ also got the gingerbread mickey for my wife. ] to go with the ornaments
they gave out.

what i like to do is to trade ours for our home resort pin, blt 2009
because my wife started collecting resorts we stayed in. it bogus
that non members brought them just to resale but that the way
it goes. also i don't think dvc workers care much about them &
it is evident that those selling in bulk are cm's gathering from the parks
for added income.

what we used them for is something for our kids to do [ trade] &
meet cast members. and as tokens from each of our wdw trips. it
reminded me what we did when i back packed thru europe. students
traded coins from the different countries especially @ the youth
hostels.

i think it is minor to those are not dvc members or have no interest in
pins. but if they mean something special to someone, for whatever
reason [ even if it just because it has dvc on it], then i can respect
that. to me, it's a fun activity. i was sorta surprise to find bunches
of precious moment pins for $2. now that had a memory for me, when
i gave my wife precious~moments after giving birth to our children.

i just wish that there was a member website avail that you had to log into like the dvc member page and there would be a whole heap of dvc only merchandise to buy.........if only eh?

I purchased one of these pins a few weeks ago, and before allowing me to move forward with the check out process on disneystore.com, I had to enter my DVC member login name and password (what I use for the member website). It did not ask for my member number but I figured my login info was enough to confirm I truly am a member.

As a pp mentioned, when I have ordered by phone, I have had to fax the copy of my member card, I actually thought that is what would happen for the online purchase, but then the login info boxes popped up.

Not sure how others got around not entering their dvc member login info, because it wouldn't let me proceed without it.

We looked at pins a lot on our first DVC trip this past December/January. They have some pins that are "DVC" with the logo on them that are available to all and some that are "DVC Exclusive" pins that you can only by with showing your member card. They sell general stuff with the logo just to get people to buy it and get the name out there more. The one you linked to doesn't look like one of the exclusive ones to me.
