I have to take my oldest DD, Jeana, out of school early to go have 5 teeth extracted!! :earseek: She has never even had a cavity!! Send some pixie dust MY way for when the novicane wears off!!! She is going to be so pleasant!!!! :scared:

Is this in preparation for braces? Poor kid, I feel for her... Hope all goes well for her and you.:D

No, Jeana's teeth are perfectly straight. :D She is 12 and still has 5 baby teeth that are "firmly attached" and the adult teeth are already coming in!! :earseek: 4 are on the top and 1 on the bottom. 3 seperate novicane injections!!

Dan, I don't doubt she'll do great when she's there...is once she is home and the numbness wears off!!!! Did I ever tell you that Jeana is my "dramatic" one?! I'm sure she'll be quite pleasant to talk to! :crazy2: I'm sure you remember what those adolescent years were like with Natalie!! :faint:

Here's hoping Jeana does well today. ::yes::

I had to have almost half of my teeth pulled before I got my braces (these were adult teeth so they had more root than baby teeth do). Anyway, the novicane shots were the worst part for me. Those shots can be pretty painful. But as long as she follows instructions on not using straws and such, she should recover pretty quick. That said...it might be harder on you, Mom! ;)

Let us know how it goes....I'm sending you good vibes!! :wave2:

I'm sending PD your way and prayers for DD that everything will go smoothly and that she won't be in too much pain after the medication wears off. Are you prepared with her favorite soft foods for this evening? Let us know how she does.

My 12 yo sister had this done 2 months ago. She only had 4 teeth pulled, though. She, like your DD, is a whiner at home. My Mom was very pleasantly surprised that she did so well. I think she liked eating ice cream for the first day. BTW, she went to school without incident the day after.

Well, we're home! :D The dentist gave Jeana the option to have 2 pulled today and three on the 30th. She happily accepted this offer!! :sunny: She was very nervous, thanks to all her friends sharing their horror stories. :faint: She handled it like a trooper and aside from feeling the sting of the needle, she didn't flinch when the teeth came out.

I had planned on giving her tomato soup for dinner but the dentist advised nothing warm or hot today. I had never heard that one before. Also, I had asked for the teeth (Jeana's science teacher wanted to 'share' them with the class tomorrow! :hyper: ). The dentist said it is a law in PA that they are not allowed to release the teeth once extracted. Something about there being bacteria and it could cause illness. She said that you aren't even supposed to save the baby teeth that the tooth fairy collects!!

I stopped at Sam's on the way home and got her the little dole fruit cups for lunch tomorrow, a huge container of ice cream and a box of jello pudding. She should be good for awhile! :jumping1:

I glad she did so well...and that it's over!! :p ;)

Here's to a big bowl of ice cream and a quiet night. :wave2:

I hope Jeana's pain is under control this evening.
