Thiry One Bags 70% Off Sale

I called about my order and they weren't able to help me at all. Frustrating for me, and for my cousin who is a consultant and told me about the sale. Not good business to tell people to "Check the website" for order information, but the site isn't working, and hasn't been for 2 weeks.
 
An email received from a director says all orders will be shipped out by January 30 at the latest. They are working on the backlog of orders though.
 
I placed an order the first morning of the sale. I recieved by order confirmation email and that's it. Nothing. I asked my consultant about it and she is frustrated too. I've ordered things from 31 before through parties and usually have my stuff in 2 weeks. I had ordered a tote for DD to take back to college with her but that's not going to happen since she leaves this weekend.

Just because someone ordered after you and already got their stuff doesn't mean yours isn't coming or a reason to stop using Thirty-One in the future.

It might be that her items were all available in a warehouse that was experiencing less volume and therefore shipped quicker than yours did.
 

I called yesterday. I spoke with a nice lady who assures me all orders are being processed in the order they were received. They expect everything to be shipped prior to the end of the month. I bought a couple bags for my upcoming Disney trip. I Willkie other arrangements in case they are not here in time. They are nice bags and worth the wait at this price.

I'm sorry but I find it bad business (especially when she ordered some of the same bags I did) and I do not do business with people who cannot get their act together. I am not the only one who ordered before this lady yet we are forced to wait longer even though we ordered first.

It also doesn't mean mine is coming or that they will not run out and mistakenly took too many orders for the items. I don't do business with businesses like this.

Then cancel and refuse delivery. Most were happy to save up to 70% off. Besides the warehouse issues, it's possible that 31 received the orders in batches from Amazon when the payment was processed.

The letter they sent out today was quite apologetic and explaining that they were doing their best after getting slammed with orders. It also said everything would be shipped by the end of the month. In the meantime, I'm sure full price orders are being processed more quickly..that's always another option.

I am NOT canceling but will NOT order from them again. My soon to be 10 year old asked for these for her birthday. She does not ask for much and I will not cancel these. I will continue to be mad because their practices stink but I will not buy from them in the future.

So you've never ordered a popular item that was back ordered? Not sure why there is so much vitriol toward the company. They sent out an email saying they were trying to process as quckly as possible. If NO orders went out until Jan 30th would it all be okay then? Seems like you are most angry that your friend got her order before you did even though plenty have posted possible reasons this could happen. If your dd helped you place the order then it sounds like she already knows what her bday gifts are---does that really lesson the celebration she'll have if she has to wait a few more days? Were there any other bday gifts you planned prior to this sudden sale announcement on Dec 26th that you could fall back on instead?

this happens EVERY time 31 has an outlet sale; they get bombarded with orders, the website crashes a LOT, and it takes a while to get them all out.
 
I also received all my items yesterday, total of 4 items but I love the thermal market tote the best. It's huge! and so pretty. Will be perfect for taking lunches to Lake Michigan in the summertime :thumbsup2
 
I think 99% of us are well aware that this is a GIANT sale and will no longer even be possible if people keep spewing venom at the company.

We recently had another company stop offering their deals because the 90% off their rates wasn't good enough for people (they whined about the silliest things.....You gave me X and now I want Y added on, I demand it!)

Next time this is posted maybe we need a disclaimer:

JUST BE AWARE THIS COULD TAKE 6 WEEKS' TIME TO RECEIVE YOUR ORDER!!!!!!!!!!

I want them to continue! This is the only way I buy 31 items! I just simply do not spend the retail prices for these items.

You know, that is the thing. Had they even stated it could take up to 6 weeks for your order to be sent out than people like me who had ordered gifts would not be as upset.

You know people that ordered on the 27th, 28th, ad even 29th getting their stuff before those who ordered on the 26th is the wrong way to handle this. Thirty One wants to blame Amazon but yet from what I have been told by several consultants, they had this issue before using Amazon.

As for my fear about my daughter not getting her stuff, people are already stating they have not gotten items or gotten the wrong items and Thirty One is doing nothing to correct the issues. This is bad buisiness.


As for the pp stating items on backorder, at least all the companies I have dealt with previously have communicated and gave me the ability to check my order status unlike Thirty One has. Their communication stinks.


I honestly want nothing more than them to ship the correct way and shipping things out from orders days later is not right. I am beginning to wonder if they are not shipping based off of their Consultants' information like last name. Something is wrong with the way they are shipping the stuff out.
 
I've ordered lots of times where you don't know the status until it ships. Last year I ordered some things from Lands End, a company that used to be known for great shipping turnaround. My order languished and didn't ship for several days after they said it would. There was no status update available until I was sent a tracking number 2 days after it actually shipped.

Anyway, there's still hope with 31. I ordered the afternoon of the last sale day and my order arrived today. Our Amazon account is tied to dh's email address, so he was getting my info and didn't bother to share with me. Keep an eye on your front porch! :goodvibes
 
This came from my Consultant today via email:

Dear (Consultant's name)

Thanks to you and your Customers we had a very successful Outlet Sale! In fact, it was our highest volume sale ever. We know there has been some conflicting information regarding orders shipping and we want to clear up any confusion.

The Thirty-One Outlet Sale FAQ's stated orders will start shipping December 29. When Customers were placing their order on our vendor's site, the shipping method said standard orders will ship in 3-5 business days. We apologize for this confusion.

Due to the incredible success of the sale, we will continue to ship out orders every business day through January 30. We are doing everything we can to process orders as quickly as possible.

Who was sent the wrong stuff?

I have posted the phone number for you to call to cancel your order. I can't imagine you actually wanting them to get any of your money at this point.

You can also write a letter to the company explaining your discontent. Complaining here doesn't do a whole lot to change anything.

However, I will say again that this is kind of how this kind of sale rolls. Most of us are ok with it because we know this is the only way to get the fantastic deals.
