I can't believe they are moving Third Watch to Friday nights! It is my favorite show! I will have to set up the VCR for every Friday now. I usually don't watch TV on Friday nights! Either we have people over or go out to someones house.

Wonder what is going to take it's place on Mondays at 10??????

Well, they have been advertising that "Average Joe" show for Monday nights....so guess that's it.

i was going to say -- make sure to set your VCRs for Friday Nights.

Third Watch was actually getting killed in the ratings against CSI Miami.. and i think this is going to be a good move for them. there isn't much competition, and Third Watch has a chance to dominate the night.

I actually have a working relationship with Ed Bernero, Executive Producer and Co-Creater of Third Watch (as a result of me running the website http://www.thirdwatch.net). I e-mailed him soon after we found out on Friday about the schedule change, and this is what he had to say about it:

My question: "If you have a moment, would it be possible for you to comment on the time slot move?

In my personal opinion, it looks like the competition on Friday nights is almost nil so this might not be a horrible move for the show. But by the same token, historically moving a show to Friday nights has been considered the "Kiss Of Death", so it has a lot of the fans a bit worried."

Ed's Answer:

"I agree with you about the competition. I also found Vegas to be a horrible lead in for us as I believe it is made for a vastly different audience (basically juvenile men). I'm pretty excited about the move. I think we're a good fit for Friday night. Law & Order SVU has done well in that slot for a couple of years.

No one should worry. Just come on over to Friday nights, watch us, and tell your friends."

So.. while it seems bad on the outset, it's much better than them out and out cancelling the show.

I will find it hard to watch on Friday nights because the kids are up late on weekends and we aren't always around. I guess it is better than cancelling it though. I guess I'll have to keep a supply of VHS tapes on hand to be able to tape when I won't be home.

Actually I was just saying that to DH last night. Third Watch is a great show, but does very poorly in the ratings.
I am hoping the move to Friday nights helps them with their ratings.
Since Law & Order SVU moved to a different night we haven't been watching anything on Friday nights, guess it is time to get back into the habit of Friday night TV

Well that stinks because I ususally dont watch TV on Fridays either but if it helps the show survive then they gotta do what they gotta do I guess.

What happened last night, I missed the show!!

This gives us something to watch on Fridays now! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Last night was one of the -best- shows since the middle of the 4th season, I'd say. It was a really good all encompassing show.. the firefighters had a major story arc, including af ight between Walsh and Jimmy over Jimmy being the new lieutenant...

Kim and Jimmy kissed.

Faith, after 6 weeks of not caring, finally decided to fight to walk again once she realized that she might not be able to work anymore.

Bosco is still insistant on being there for Faith "just in case".

Davis is thinking of goign back to law school.. we found out he's been sleeping with the prosecuter we met last week.. and he's tryign to blow her off.. which is good because I don't like the prosecuter. ;) Sully told Davis he'd take the LSATs with Davis, and make it a competition.

The main storyline was a rapper who made it his personal mission to keep the pirated CDs off the street, resulting in a fire that had one death... they kept picking on Bosco, calling him the midget. We saw a LOT of the old Bosco last night, which was great.. :)

Overall, a pretty awesome episode :)

Thank you for this post! When is this going to take place? We tape this show every single week. Going right through the commercials is awesome. Haven't seen last nights episode yet, so I sped right through that post with the spoilers (thanks for the warning!).

Thanks for the update, Mona. I usually tape Third Watch because I can't stay up that late to watch it. I have to get up at 5:00 AM. My VCR broke last week so I wasn't able to tape it last night. Sounds like I missed a good episode.

I, for one, am glad that the show is moving to Friday nights. I love Third Watch and I can stay up late to watch it on that night. I wonder what time slot it is getting? Is it going to be aired after Miss Match? I like that show also. Let's home that Third Watch doesn't get canceled. It's a great show!

The first Friday airing is on Friday, October 31st.
It will be on after Miss Match in the 10pm time slot.

Thank you Mona for the recap! I will have to stay home on Fridays to watch the show now I guess. :)
