I recently applied for a job and had my initial interview on January 31st. Incidentally, I used to work for this company years ago. This interview was with the HR person who was screening applicants. As requested, I brought a few writing samples (this is a copywriting position).
The following week, I had my second interview with the department manager. Midway through the interview, she called in the other two people who comprise the department. At the end of the interview, I was given an editing assignment to take home and mail in when completed (which I did two days later).
So, another week passed and I didn't hear anything. I do know that they were checking my references, though, because the people they called let me know. Today, the HR person who first interviewed me called to set up a third interview.
This time I will be meeting with an executive vice president.
Are three interviews common? I've been out of the corporate world for a while, so I really don't know if this is the norm. All I know is that I'm running out of good interview outfits and intelligent things to say.
Some background: Prior to becoming a SAHM six years ago, I worked at this company for four years. This position is completely unrelated to my previous position there.
Any advice, opinions, and/or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated!
