Attendance at Disney's parks, including SeaWorld, have seen three consecutive days of growth for the first time since the bombing. While promising, most agree that we have a long way to go before normal travel patterns to Orlando resume.

The stock market is rebounding (although DIS is down) this ma be a positive sign for the US economy in general.

When my wife and I heard that travel was down, we decide to look into planning a trip to support the parks. While we found some really great airfares ($71 round trip Austin-Orlando), we could not find ANY good deals at WDW for the first week in October. When I asked the Disney operators from CRO and the Disney Club (I called both), I was told that bookings initially dropped off, but have picked up again and many resorts were full for that week. I was also told that there are no plans to offer any new specials at this time. Even though this effectively scuttled our trip, I was glad to hear that things seem to be picking up in Orlando.

BTW: I ended up booking a trip to Las Vegas instead. There are still some wonderful deals there if you deal your hotel and airlines directly. Packages seem to be over priced right now. We got 3 nights at the Las Vegas Hilton (including tickets to Star Trek and their dinner show) and round trip airfare from Austin for a grand total of $210 per person. The closest my travel agent could come was $405 per person and that didn't include the entertainment extras we got. If you like Vegas, now is a great time to go.
