Thinking of visiting disneyland :

Ok, so we are just back from WDW, had a good time but not great, reason being we have been so much we feel like nothing is new and fresh for us, it's like " been there done that" feeling. So we were thinking of maybe saving some money for a year and going to DL, we know nothing about DL, is it just like WDW ? Also we are alittle scared because my dd is totally disabled, can a wheelchair get around like WDW ? Are there any reasonable hotel, something like the moderate resorts , close to DL ? Will we have to rent a car ? We would be flying from N.C. so this would be the first ever time we have all flown. Sorry for all the questions but, we would love to do something new to us, but are scared of change, thanks alot

Yes, a great thing about visiting the "other park" is that it's a new look at a familiar theme. (For me the "other park" is WDW.)

There are plenty of decent hotels/motels within walking distance, covered by his chapter 11.

I'm guessing wheelchair access would be even easier than WDW since you can get from park to park to DTD to the Harbor Blvd hotels without changing elevation. No need for boats or buses or monorails to get from place to place within the resort, and as mentioned there are numerous hotels/motels close by.

JetBlue flies from Dulles to Long Beach (LGB) if that works for you. Otherwise look for flights to SNA or LAX.

I think it's worth a look. There are many different parades and shows as well as some the same. Much of the theming is different. There is New Orleans Square which is great. There are several of the same rides but many of these are different and better at DLR. Also there are some rides unique to DLR.

1. There are no Disney owned Mods or Values like at WDW. All 3 hotels owned by Disney are above the level of a Mod. Two are below the deluxes but above the mods in price. One is at the deluxe pricing level. But there are several off site hotels that are about equal in room size to the mods but priced at or near the Values. These are a 5 minute walk across the street. So you won't need a rental car unless you plan on going other places.

Beware, however. Some hotels will advertise "next to Disney." They are next to Disney property, but aren't in walking distance to the gate.
Next to (fill in the blank) / Disey usually means (fill in the blank) is next to or sort of next to Disney property, not the gate, and the hotel is the other side of (fill in the blank) from Disney.

2. A Wheelchair can get around DLR. A plus is that everything at DLR can be walked to.
