Has anone done this lately? How was it?

I can get a great rate, cheaper than driving and 1/2 as less of flying (which I don't anyways).

Any thoughts on price or method from then getting from the train station to Disney resorts?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

From Orlando, you can take a shuttle for $20 pp, one way. I have used this service many times, to/from the station. Can't beat it! ;)

We haven't taken the train from Boston, but we have taken it from Philly. We really enjoy it. The only thing is, you have to allow time for delays. About two years ago we took the train from Philly and got to Orlando 5 hours late. That was just a one time thing, being that late, but other times we have been only about an hour late or so. It's a fun experience, just bring stuff to keep yourself occupied. Good luck!

If your only consideration is the cost, they by all means give this a shot. But I'd include time and comfort level into this decision as well.

How long is the train ride? How many stops? Will you be able to sleep in a standard train seat? How much will food cost you on board?

Since it is just me and the boys going I'm really not looking forward to doing the drive alone. Usually my DH and I trade off driving. We just got back and our gas costs was about $350 RT plus a hotel room 1 night (we drove straight thru on the way home) plus of course food costs.
If we take the train, I don't have to do the whole drive or pay for 2 hotels nights (1 each way). Food will probably work out the same (unless I bring some along) Timewise may work out to be the same, even with delays.
The ride is about 24-26 hours with 1 stop in either DC or NY

Just curious to hear peoples experience. I've taken the train to NY and enjoyed it.

When might you be going ? My DW and DD are thinking of taking the train fron Boston also, while my DS and I fly. We are going mid Aug., and they are going to reserve a roomette, I believe. Are you leaving from South Station or Back Bay ? If you're going b4 Aug., we would love to hear how the train ride was ? Thanx.:thumbsup2

We'll be going the last week of April. I was going to head out of South Station. The roomettes add quie a bit of cost and since there are 3 of us it wouldn't work. I also looked at maybe driving to Virginia and grabbing the auto train but that's alot more money just to save about 12 hours of driving Not really worth it.

I just need to find out and choices of getting from the train station to Saratoga Springs.

I wonder if there's a car rental place right there, even though we don't really need one.
