Thinking of switching to offsite - need advice

Cypress Point has no rooms...
Check HotelKingdom.com and you'll find availability in 3BR villas at both Cypress Pointe Resort and Cypress Pointe Grand Villas for $135.70/nt. Right now, they list availability for every night between June 16 and July 16 at this price. 8 nights in a 3BR would be $1221.30 total - good price and very close to Downtown Disney.

We do want a place that feels like resort, and not just a basic hotel on a strip with a bunch of other hotels.
This resort feels very much like a resort to me - nothing like a hotel among the rest, IMHO. They have a nice volcano pool area w/poolside snack bar hot tubs, kiddie pool and playground, a clubhouse, shuffleboard, basketball & volleyball on the CPR side. The CPGV side has two quiet pool areas (turtle-shaped & freeform) w/hot tubs, kiddie pools, playgrounds, mini-golf, games room, tennis & gift shop. Guests may use amenities in both sections - all within easy walking distance. It's quite nice, just not lakefront - which may not even matter to you. Take a look at the websites for CPGV and CPR - you'll find photos and details, including the location so you can see if you think it would suit your family. HTH. :goodvibes

You could also try Windsor Hills resort. When I was looking for an offsite I went to the Windor Hills website - www.windsorhillsrent.com I filled out an online general inquiry and got tons of responses from owners with availability for my vacation dates. I was looked at 3br/3bath townhouses and 3br/2bath condos. I booked a condo there called Mickey's Condo. It sleeps 8 and has a king in the master bedroom, a queen bedroom and a 2 twin bedroom plus a queen sofa sleeper. Good luck!

Lisa P: thanks for the info. I checked that website and you are right - there are rooms available at Cypress Pointe. I had checked directly with Cypress Pointe before and that website said there weren't any.

We are seriously considering Cypress Pointe Grand Villa but I have a couple questions. The write up on hotelkingdom.com says they have no maid service. Since they don't have any we were wondering if they supply towels. Also, is there a vaccum in the unit if you need to clean up a bit? Do they supply any cleaning supplies (dish or laundry detergent) or do we need to pack those in the luggage?

Also I assume that there aren't any pool towels (correct?) so we would have to bring towels for that.

The resort provides a full cleaning between guests and normally after every 7 nights. Also, they generally have additional housekeeping service midweek available for a fee. Each unit has a small utility closet inside with vacuum, broom/dustpan, iron & board, etc. If you needed something more, a phone call to housekeeping usually takes care of it. Each unit has a stacked, apartment-style washer/dryer in a little closet. They supply one small box of laundry detergent. We pack some more (tablets & dryer sheets).

The kitchen has everything you need... clean towels/potholders, dishware, cookware, utensils, blender, mixer, coffee pot, fullsize appliances, microwave, disposal, a fresh sponge, dish soap and a few packets of dishwasher detergent, etc. You may want to bring or buy a few more packets of dishwasher detergent in the gift shop as needed. Paper towels, tissues, bath tissue and bath soap are all provided - bring your personal toiletries otherwise. As Pat mentioned, this is an unusual timeshare, not providing a hairdryer in every bathroom - though they have a few (1st come, 1st serve) and we borrowed one from housekeeping for the week we were there.

The number of complete towel sets and sofabed linens/pillows provided will suffice for the occupancy limit of the unit (beds are freshly made - you'd need to set up the sleeper sofa if you use it). We have never had to bring our own pool towels in over a dozen timeshare vacations at different resorts (some have them inroom, some poolside). Pool towels of a different color from the towel sets are stocked in the master bath here.

BTW, both of the master BRs have their own TVs, the smaller kids' BR does not, and the LR has a large-screen TV - very nice. :)
