We are staying there for the first time on our next trip. We have always stayed at the Disney Institute and loved it there.
On our first trip we had booked a cabin at Fort Wilderness, we stayed outside the night before and terrible storm came through that night. When we went to check in we found out that the cabins were blocked off be fallen trees and they weren't even sure of the damage done. After much anxiety and a few tears, instead of spending the night on cots in a lobby of one of the other hotels (like the family in line in front of me) we were sent to the Institute to a bedroom townhouse. Silly me kept questiong them if there was a kitchen and was not sure that we would be happy there. Well, it was nicer than my house!
Anyhow, in my own roundabout way I am agreeing with Scoootch with once you stay in such a place it is hard to think of going back. Now we just have to save a little more, but we love having the extra space.
