Have always stayed at the regular Disney hotels every year, but OKW has certainly got my attention. It looks very quaint and would be something new for us. Anyone stayed there and opinions? I would also like some really great pictures other than our laughing place.com........Thank you all in advance.:D

You will love OKW!!:teeth: It's beautiful and relaxing and so spacious!! You didin't mention which size vacation home you will be booking, but no matter what size you get, you will love it!! Just be careful lol, once you stay in a DVC resort, you may be hearing "Welcome Home" from all us other members as it is very hard to go back to a regular size hotel room after staying in the more spacious rooms at the DVC resorts and having the extra ammenities like a kitchenette or a full size Kitchen & living room. Especially OKW as it's more spacious than all the other DVC resorts.;)

If you are looking for pictures from somewhere other than laughing place, the official WDW site WWW.DisneyVacationClub.com has 3D tour pics that you can see on the DVC website as well as other people who will post their personal pics for you I'm sure. I'd show you mine but I'm not all that proficcient with my computer unfortuneatly.

Have a great time at OKW -- trust me -- YOU WILL LOVE IT!!
 :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Thank you so much Scoooch.........I will check it out. I am getting very excited over the prospect of staying in a 1 bedroom with all that space. As I am getting older, I am looking for a more laid back time at Disney.......:D :D :D

We stayed at OKW for the first time last November in a one bedroom villa and LOVED it!! It was sooooo relaxing. I just loved their balconies and all the room in the villa!!! Go for it, I bet you'll enjoy it too! :)

We are staying there for the first time on our next trip. We have always stayed at the Disney Institute and loved it there.
On our first trip we had booked a cabin at Fort Wilderness, we stayed outside the night before and terrible storm came through that night. When we went to check in we found out that the cabins were blocked off be fallen trees and they weren't even sure of the damage done. After much anxiety and a few tears, instead of spending the night on cots in a lobby of one of the other hotels (like the family in line in front of me) we were sent to the Institute to a bedroom townhouse. Silly me kept questiong them if there was a kitchen and was not sure that we would be happy there. Well, it was nicer than my house!
Anyhow, in my own roundabout way I am agreeing with Scoootch with once you stay in such a place it is hard to think of going back. Now we just have to save a little more, but we love having the extra space.

Pam

Looooooove OKW!!! :) We're staying there for the third time in November. :) Large villas, plenty of space, great atmosphere, fast bus service to the parks, jacuzzi in the bathroom, washer and dryer, full kitchen, I could go on and on. ;) It's just one of those resorts you really need to try and then you'll know what's so special about it. :)

We stayed at OKW for the first time in March and we're going back in June. What a fantastic resort!

I have a LOT of pictures.

OKW resort.

OKW 1-bedroom villa.

Thank you. :)
I can't believe how much I loved OKW. I would stay there any time. We do a lot of our own driving and it's so wonderful to park right outside your villa at the end of a long, tiring day. And there was plenty of room for all of us to stretch out. My DH does a lot of cooking and he loves the layout of the kitchen... I wish our kitchen at home was as nice!

You are very welcome!;)

You'll absolutely love the 1 bdrm - wait till you see the jacuzzi (and the king size bed:D ) !

Have a wonderful time!!

We're staying at OKW in a 2br for our upcoming trip and I can't wait. Just looking at all the pictures, I know we're going to love it.
We've wanted to stay at OKW for several years, but it just never seemed to work out until this trip.

This trip was really up in the air with a lot of things that could have stopped us from going. The last hurdle was cleared yesterday so we are a definite go!

Love your pictures! Is the photo of the OKW living room taken on your recent trip? Would it happen to be in building 31? The view out the window and palm tree location seems to be very similar to the 1BDR we were in for our recent trip.

Glad you enjoyed your stay at OKW. We've been DVC members since '93, and don't seem to tire of it.:)

The buses at OKW come regularly and each one stops at the main pool/ shopping area on the way out to the parks. There are numerous bus stops. We had friendly drivers and short waits. Enjoy!

pooh6980 - are you booking through a regular ressie or did you rent points from a DVC member?

I only ask because it seems to be less expensive to rent the points.

Also, as other posters said, beware of loving it too much. We rented points in Nov. of 2002 at OKW & loved it so much that we came home & bought a resale! :D

Can't wait for our first official trip home! :p

It sure was. We were in villa 3123! :teeth:

I can't wait to go back in 47 days!

That's the same room we were in!!!:) I knew that view clicked in my brain as looking familiar...thank you for the validation. ;)

We plan on going for Super Soap Weekend (gone every single year) in November. I have never stayed at a DVC resort so I don't know about renting points. We are Seasonal Passholders and always get a really super AP rate each year though. Thanks to all of you for the great replies. I had forgotten how great the pics are at Suite Disney....I am getting so excited about staying there and you all helped me make the decision to definately plan on OKW for our next visit.:D :D :D :D

It was great! Stayed there 12/2001 for a week in 2 br villa with group of 8 and had tons of room. Very clean. No hassles. Read these boards for best locations. We had a 3rd floor no smoking villa and that was nice. Would do it again.
