Thinking of getting an E-Reader...

Check with your library first. Some have better options for e-books than others. One reader on another thread indicated she could only check out 3-5 books at a time, and had very poor availability.

My local library ties into a larger city network (Cleveland) and lets me check out up to 20 books for my nook at a time.

I would also do more research on the kindle library thing first too.

I love my nook and find it easy to navigate and get around. It is a tad heavier than a kindle, have compared with a co-worker. However when you put it in a leather cover, it feels just like the weight and size of a standard paperback!

I have the Kindle with "Special Offers" aka ads. I love it. The other day they sent me an offer for $5 off any purchase of $10 or more on Amazon, so basically a $5 coupon. I also got a $20 Amazon gc for $10.

I have a question for all of you with E-Readers. Do you like a touch screen or not? I've tried a friend's Kindle and have a hard time with the buttons, I kept touching the screen to turn the page. Do you find it easy to use the buttons once you get use to the Kindle or would the Nook be better (doesn't the Nook have a touch screen)?

I really prefer the touch screen on my Nook Color! That was one of the big reasons the Kindle never interested me.....I didn't like the keyboard. Reading on a Kindle and seeing the keyboard right there would drive me crazy! There's nothing distracting about the look of a Nook Color, so it gives me the same feel as reading an actual book. Hope that makes sense!

Yea, there are times I put my finger to close to the screen and it'll turn the page accidentally. But that doesn't happen anymore now that I've gotten use to it.

One thing I do that drives me crazy is I'll lick my finger to turn the page! :rotfl2: When I read physical books or magazines I always lick my finger, and I haven't gotten out of the habit with my Nook!
