I just have some questins that I need help with. I am thinking about buying resale. Can you finance? How much do they want down? How long are the terms for? What is the percentage of the loan? Each time you call and make reservation is there a charge? When are your maint. fees due. Do you pay all at once or monthly? Sorry If my questions are simple but I am new to this and there is just so much to learn. I still cant decide Old Key West, Saratoga or Boradwalk Thanks:cool1:

On the financing question: yes, financing is available through a variety of sources. I'd suggest your discussing your situation with one of the reseller companies, such as TSS who sponsors this board.

There are no charges for a reservation if you are staying at one of the DVC properties. If you stay at a different Disney resort, then there is a $95 fee. Most folks feel staying at a non-DVC resort is a waste of points due to the high number of points needed.

Maintenance fees are due in January. You can pay them all at once via credit card (and get airline miles, etc.) or pay monthly by automatic debit from your checking or savings account.

Remember, buy where you want to stay. We bought resale at BWV due to its proximity to Epcot, DHS, and Jellyrolls. We like OKW due to its feeling of getting away from everything. We didn't like SSR since it felt like the original apartment complex we lived in many years ago when we got married.

If you are young, with young kids, please, please, please make sure you can afford doing this and aren't putting future education expenses in jeopardy! (my common warning)

Good Luck with your decisions.

So agree with these recommendations, and to echo if you need to finance a large portion of whichever resort you want to buy given the economy I think it best you take a pause and rethink things.

Resale prices are probably close to rock bottom, but if you can't afford this don't add another payment.

Just my 2 cents.

Howdy neighbor -

Hmmmm.......If only they had a DVC above Quigleys in downtown Napervile :thumbsup2

Live in Wheeling, but working in Warrenville - appears to be more Chicago-based DVCers than I thought :lmao:

Howdy from another one!

If you own a house, your best bet for financing a DVC contract would probably be a home equity line of credit or home equity loan.

Where are you finding the resales for DVC? We wanted to look into the same thing but are not sure where a good (and safe) sstarting point is.

thanks!

I'm not sure if we should be recommending specific companies here, but if you Google, you'll find 2 big ones and a couple smaller ones.

All are extremely reputable so far as I know.

Many folks (myself included) have used TSS for resale. TSS is the sponsor of these boards and their contact information is at the top of these pages. There have been quite a few threads written about resale companies and TSS almost always have extremely high recomendations.

Logan115: Having a DVC over Quigley's would be nice, but my wife the shopper would probably object. I'd much rather see one on Sheffield or Waveland with a nice "lounge" on the rooftop! Go Cubs! Of course, my favorite DVC is the one over Jellyrolls (BWV).

How about a DVC on top of Goose Island?

With deliveries from Amazon and a DSL line, I'd never have to leave the building!
