thinking of Driving to Disneyland

how Crazy would me and my husband be to drive down to Vegas and Disneyland Cali from Ottawa Ontario

Has anyone ever done this?

No you would not be crazy - I drove from Edmonton to Anaheim and back in a big circle and stopped at the Great Salt Lake, Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, drove on Route 66 for a while, went to various beaches and of course Disney and Seaworld, zoos, aquariums. You would need a solid vehicle, plan for at least 3 weeks and take your time to stop and visit other places ... helps break up the trip and interesting too.

It takes 30 hours of straight driving from Edmonton down to Anaheim. It takes approximately 3 days to get from Ottawa to Edmonton (I have done this trip a few times). I would definitely plan on 1 week to drive there and 1 week to drive back.

I would use something like google maps and plan out a route and see what places interest you to stop in - for example you could drive to Chicago and take the old Route 66 to California and see the various sites along the way. On the way back you could drive up to the Canadian Rockies and cross the prairies.

I road trip whenever I can and I love it. Yes, sometimes you wish you could just snap your fingers and you are there but you end up seeing the most incredible landscapes.

Wow! That's exactly what my hubby and I are thinking of this summer. We have driven to Vancouver (x2), PEI (x5) and Orlando (x5). We are road trippers and are seriously thinking about it. What an adventure!!

Google maps has it at 1 day, 19 hours. The secret is to break it up with many short stops and cool hotels.

BTW, we have teens and 2 would be joining us. I really want to do it!

Thanks, It wouldent be till next year, so we have lots of time to plan if we decide to drive it down
