thinking of cancelling

The weather up here in NE sucks and I have no desire to go to DW. Luckly I will only lose $200.00 for DW but universal I will lose almost $300.00 for one night at PB plus lose my tickets to blue man group. I should of never booked, I go away every Christmas to escape my life and usually it makes me happy but this year it is eating at my gut that I could use this money for bills.
I hate the holidays, makes my life miserable, no family to celebrate anything with, it stinks big time

Will you lose airline money? For me, if I was alone I'd rather be at WDW. And if you'd lose money by not going, I'd go and see if it perked me up. But it's a decision you have to make.

Hang onto those Blue Man Group tickets. I know on Broadway/Off-Broadway, they'll allow you to use them at a future date. You won't get the same seat, you'll get whichever seats are available at the time of the show you show up for. I'd imagine the show at Universal would be the same. At least it's better than pitching them in the trash.

Life is what you make of it. Get out and do things locally if you need to save money. The world is a wonderful and fascinating place. Use the holidays as a time to get to know it better.

I am so sorry to hear how sad you are this holiday season. Maybe if you go to DW at least the weather is better and you can get outside in the sunshine some. I know when it is cold I would much rather stay in doors and hide from the world and that happens a great deal here!

I so sorry you're alone at Christmas. We don't have family here either and it does make for a different holiday.

But you started out by saying "the weather sucks in the NE" which makes me think you are a little sad to begin with. Some time in the Florida sunshine might be good for you! Especially since you said "usually it makes me happy"

Also since it looks like you will lose quite a bit by canceling maybe you should consider if there a less expensive way to go? Maybe not as many park days or cheaper lodging?

I dont owe you and explanation but I used my miles so airfare was free and hotel was 69 a night and I had to buy frood at home, does that clarify that for you

Not feeeling sorry for myself and I am sorry if it was taken out of text that way, maybe I can take the homeless in and feel better but then again my house would smell from them not showering.

OP's ticker says "since" Reno/Tahoe. No trip to cancel, but good suggestion! I'd rather do to WDW than anywhere else.

Couldn't you still go and just cut out a lot of the costs? Universal can particularly be done on a budget if you need to.

Sorry you're not in a good place right now.
1st. Kudos to you for wanting to do the responsible thing & pay your bills but it sounds like your mental health could use some help & that is just as important, so you might want to re think cancelling. Some times a little cheer from others is contagious.

2nd. if you do cancel, how about doing a little volunteering? When I was alone for a couple of years, I found this to be really uplifting and I'm sure now with the economy in the tanker the need has exploded. Many shelters and food banks and senior citizen centers are stretch thin. Made me feel so good about myself.

well if you call what the OP was saying " If you need money for bills, cancel the Reno/Tahoe trip." then that wasn't helping because as I have stated I went on that trip in May and I was proving a point, I just though that it should of been read in the right context, nothing more then that, I do appreciate help, I do not want to turn this in a help session or a person bashing

YOur response to people trying to give you encouragment, could explain why you have no friends to spend the holidays. They are only responding to your post. Some people are not happy at christmas and there is nothing any one can do to change that.

Staying where the weather is bad makes no sense, it will make you feel worse.
If this is about money seems you have money out for the trip that you won't be getting back so perhaps you should go.
Sounds to me like you have "buyer's remorse".

Many many people feel the same way as you do at the moment. what ever you do know that you are not alone and you will turn the corner, please don't give up.

I would love to be able to get over to WDW but the air flight from the UK is prohibative at the moment but I know I will get back to the happiets place in the world one day and that is what keeps me going.

Gail, I think if you decided to go it will lift your spirts once you get there. If you decide to cancle, may you not be down for too long.
