This is causing me too much anxiety
I can’t find a single table service restaurant the entire time we are there
(Yes I’ve looked starting 60 days out)
I have a disabled son who needs to sit and eat. (How are we supposed to eat at all if nothing is available?)
I have multiple questions that I need answered by a Disney representative and can get NO ONE on the phone after two days of waiting 8 hours on the phone (not exaggerating).
it’s like Disney doesn’t give a **** if they can’t even answer the phone after 8 hours of waiting for two days.
I don’t even know if they can accommodate my son now.
how are we supposed to even eat?
No room service can we order dominoes pizza or something else to our room and eat but I heard there was no eating in the room at all?
We need a refrigerator in our room to store medicine but there was NO WHERE to put that when booking reservations.
Have tickets booked for May 17-21
I give up

I'm so sorry for your frustration. I wish I could give some help or insight. I too waited on hold for hours and was then disconnected when someone finally answered. I'm not sure why ADR's are so difficult to get, maybe because less restaurants are open and less tables being used? But with 35% capacity, you'd think that would balance it. I don't know what to say, other than they def need more employees manning the phones. You know they don't have enough when I spoke to the same person on two different calls.

Not sure who told you no eating in the room but that is extremely false. Not even possible to enforce. I definitely understand the importance of ADRs. It seems as that Disney has been gradually increasing capacity, but not increasing dining, etc at similar rates. If I were you, I'd hold off on the trip another 6months to a year and see if offerings improve

I know it's frustrating right now calling in ( and trying to get dining ) the only thing I can offer is try to call as soon as the lines open to reduce the call in time if possible. Also keep trying on the dining reservations, I have read that due to others changing that people have gotten reservations but it does take some stalking.

You can eat in your room and you will have a fridge in your room.
Use mobile order at counter service locations in the parks and eat at off hours whenever possible. You should have no trouble getting a table when you're not ordering food during prime lunch/dinner hours.
Good luck! :goodvibes

Yes, it's extremely difficult to get a Table Service reservation at the theme parks right now. If you still go, your best option is to try to locate one at a Disney hotel (or the Swan & Dolphin), and then leave the park to take a bus there and back. (Or the Monorail if you can find a reservation at one of the 3 Monorail resorts.

This is time-consuming and will require an extra hour each day. OK, if you want to take a break. A major pain if you don't.

Disney's phone service has been horribly bad ever since they reopened, all to save a few bucks.

Due to COVID, Disney has not been allowing offsite restaurants deliver to the room. However, you definitely can pick up something from a Disney restaurant or food court and bring it back to the room.

Send me a private message about these dates. I might be able to help.

5/17, for example, I show Crystal Palace, Liberty Tavern, Biergarten, Coral Reef, Chefs de France, Mama Melrose, Rainforest Cafe (AK), Rose & Crown, San Angel, Teppon Edo, Tiffin’s, Tutto Italia, Via Napoli all available for in-park lunch ADRs for a party of four. Dinner has less availability but still plenty to be found between the resorts and Disney Springs. Want me to check other dates as well?

All rooms on-site will have a fridge in your room.

Can you try to use the chat feature on MDE to get through to a CM? I had to call multiple times last week and each time had an hour wait. I haven’t seen any reports of 8 hour hold times that’s insane.

I see dining during your stay. How many people are in your party? Have you tried the old, search a table for 2, then 3, then 4, etc to see what has availability? I don't know your park days, so I was just searching generically, but I see dining in all the various parks and hotels right now.

Can your child wear a mask? That is the most important question with regards to going. If he cannot, you will be unable to go.

And, you can more easily get tables in quick service restaurants now, because you have to have a mobile order to get food. So, even if you can't find table service restaurants, you can pre-schedule your mobile orders for the time you want to eat in the morning and be assured you will have a table in the restaurant.

If it's no fun planning, you should cancel....but I'm hoping you're just feeling overwhelmed and can still go and have fun.

Also, chat often works better than calling. So much easier to reach a person and no misunderstandings because of bad connections.

I understand ADRs for TS restaurants are limited due to some closed restaurants and occupancy limitations at those open. Off-times are always easier to book than peak meal hours, though if you are trying to keep to your son's usual schedule that may be harder You can mobile order and eat at QS locations, I thought they have some tables available. At your resort, you may definitely eat in your room - either pick up from QS or order groceries, or order take out from off-site. I think you can order for delivery as well (Grub Hub etc.) but you have to meet the delivery at the main lobby, then you can take the food to your room.

Try the Chat feature online for help, they may be able to answer some questions for you.

As for a resort fridge -- all on-site resorts have at least a mini fridge. If you need an actual freezer, contact Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or email disability.services@disneyparks.com.

Be sure that you are logged into MDE. Sometimes, it won't show dining correctly if you are not logged in. It may look like you are logged in, but it doesn't think so. Just go to the My Disney Experience link, and it will force you to log in. Then you can try for dining.

I feel horrible about what you are going through.
talking to Disney on the phone unless you are buying something is a bit frustrating.

Reserving dining is difficult but sitting down to eat hasn’t been difficult with mobile ordering

Something I forgot about earlier, as the dates get closer, the hours will be extended. Sometimes right before and definitely sometime after the extended hours are posted, new reservations will be available, so if you do hang onto your room reservations, be sure to keep checking in on ADRs, especially at 3-4, maybe 5 weeks out.

Right now park hour extensions are happening and corresponding new dining is showing up about two weeks in advance.

I've been on two trips now since Covid and with the new mobile ordering for quick service restaurants, I've never had an issue finding a table to sit down & eat at. There have always been plenty of tables available.

You can also absolutely order food & bring it back to your room to eat. One night we ordered through uber eats (it was after 11pm, everything at the resort was closed, & we were hungry) and I just had to walk to the front to pick up the order. We saw several other people doing the same thing with no issues.

If I'm not mistaken, all rooms have refrigerators.

People shouldn’t have to talk you into going to Disney. Seems like you know your answer and probably shouldn’t go.

I agree. And for my 2 cents the very last thing I do with a disabled child right now is vacation anywhere. If I can't go to the store without a bloody mask I sure am not taking my disabled kid to Disney World. Just sayin, we are waiting till 2022.

Would you be open to renting a car and driving off site to eat? You can grab snacks at the Dollar Tree or Publix and bring to your room and get to go from restaurants. We enjoy having a car also to escape long bus lines that will be stressful after so much stimulation for a ASD child. Or do same with lyft or uber.

We ordered Papa John's twice while at POP earlier this month, you just have to meet them in the lobby. They cannot deliver to the room. I don't know if that is a feasible option for you though. Also, we were able to get walk up reservations to Beaches and Cream and Garden Grill. Those were the only places we tried.
