Hello we're thinking of buying in and want to get an adequate amt of pts to vacation one full week a year in usually June or September . We'd like to be able to always get a one bedroom unit. Also need to know if there's a cap on the monthly fee and how high it can go. What are the benefits and perks of being a DVC?? What is the ticket discount? Meal plan cost w/ DVC?? Please help me

Your request is a bit too broad. Might I suggest that you read all the sticky's at the top of all the DVC boards and then come back with some specific questions. I can answer a couple quickly though. There is a percentage cap on the maintenance fees but I don't think it has ever gone up as high as the cap is. Which resort you own at determins both maintenance fees and number of points needed for a 1 bedroom villa during specific times of the year. There are point charts listed on a clickable link under the timeshare store ad at the top of the page here. For now, Disney Dining plan costs about $39/person /day, but bear in mind that you will have a full kitchen, so as a timeshare, you might not be using the full meal plan as completely as if you were staying in a hotel.

DVC perks aren't guarunteed in perpetuity. But, we do currently get a great deal on annual passes. I believe it's around $100 off per ticket.

One thing to add to previous posters' suggestion: If you go only every other year, you won't need as many points since you can bank points forward or borrow points from the next years alottment. BUT, I guaruntee that no matter how many points you buy, you will always want more than you have...

The annual fees have a maximum increase limit of 15% - without approval of the owners. There has never been an increase anywhere near that - increases have averaged 3-4% per year since 1991. A couple of years the fees even went down.
