If i buy a contract at BCV with an September or October use year in the next few months do I get 2017 points and if so can I bank them for next year? now here is my question that I am really not sure on if we were to use them next year do they use the banked points first and if we have 2018 points left can we bank them into 2019 because that is the big year we plan on going? Another question i just thought of if we bank this years points and then decide not to go next year can I rent the points then bank what is left?

If you bought direct you would probably get 2016 points at the time of purchase (these points would be good until 8/31/17 or 9/30/17).

Generally banked points are used first unless you specify otherwise.

Yes, you can rent banked points.

Another bonus for direct- if you purchase CcV September uy you will get 2016 points no maintenance fees and 2017 points will only be mf's from resort open (I think July). So 2017 mf's will only be for 1/2 year. If you figure $176 pp and a point value of say $15/point compared to rental, that's a full years points plus another years points at 1/2 off mf so about $3.75/point. Closing costs are a little less than resale as well and then there's the direct benefits you get if you will use such as ap discount that may or may not be a benefit.

Except the cost of BCV direct vs resale will be thousands more........A couple thousand for a small contract or more thousands for a large one.

this is so helpful thank you

A Sept or Oct UY is currently still in their 2016 UY so you would receive 2016 points if buying direct.

So if I bank 2016 UYi can use them this year or do i get to use them next year? i guess if i get a September UY are they good from Sept of this year to Sept of next year not sure how that would work.

For a Sept UY 2016 points would be valid for stays from Sept 1, 2016 thru Aug 31, 2017. If they were banked it would move them into the 2017 UY and would be valid for stays from Sept 1, 2017 thru Aug 31, 2017 and if they were not used by Aug 1, 2017 the banked points would expire.

Banking (and borrowing too) are final transactions and you can't move the points back once you have done either - they stay in the UY you have moved them to.
