Thinking of booking pre-cruise nights at Marriott Pinnacle, Vancouver -- Experiences?

I'm looking for feedback on the Marriott Pinnacle Downtown in Vancouver. Specifically, how was the hotel and did you book a Disney transfer to the port? I realize the port is very close, but I'm interested in the luggage transfer service. In my mind, the amount we would pay Disney for the transfer to the port would be more for the luggage service than the transportation itself. I realize we could take our luggage ourselves, but I'm curious about this service before I book one way or the other. We have used Disney transportation/luggage transfer several times from the Hyatt at MCO, so I am wondering if it's at all worth it to use it in Vancouver. Does anyone have any feedback?
Thanks!

We haven't actually done a cruise out of Vancouver yet. We had one planned just before covid hit but it ultimately got canceled. However, out plan was to stay at the Pinnacle and we have a good friend that lives there in Vancouver who recommended it.

As far as getting from the hotel to the ship goes, I'd just grab a taxi/uber with my luggage.

We stayed there prior to our cruise in 2017 and really, really enjoyed the hotel and location. We were there for several days prior and loved that we could walk down to Canada place and watch the ships come in and how many restaurants were just steps away. The hotel breakfast was one of the best we've ever had, though it was an extra charge.

I would not recommend wasting money on Disney transfers. It's so close to the pier - like 2 blocks. I get the luggage aspect of it, as we had tons of luggage as well. So even though it's extremely walkable, we grabbed a cab. I think it was about 6 bucks plus tip and was just a couple of minutes drive. There were cabs everywhere, or the doormen will gladly grab one for you (for a small tip, of course). Edited to add - back then Uber / Lyft wasn't really a thing, or not as prevalent anyway. Now, that's probably another great option for getting to the pier. Either way, I would never recommend paying whatever amount Disney wanted to charge you for moving you and luggage two blocks.

We chose that hotel because we wanted to use my husband's Marriott points for the stay and were very pleased with the decision.

We live in the Vancouver area, and when we cruised out of Vancouver, we parked at an area that is about 3-5 blocks away from the cruise port. It took us about 10-12 minutes to walk to the cruise terminal with all of our luggage. If you are mobile with no health issues, I would highly recommend walking from the Marriott Pinnacle to the cruise terminal. It's either flat there or there is even a slight downhill from hotel to cruise terminal, and it would take you maybe about 5 minutes. You have to drop luggage on the ground/basement floor of the terminal and then go up to check in, but it's easy and the signage is clear. Uber/Lyft are available but you'd still have to schlep your luggage into the terminal itself.

I realize this doesn't answer your question about luggage transfer services, but wanted to provide some insight that it really is quite easy to get around that area on foot.

Thanks for the information!

Do you mind sharing where you parked? Was it cheaper than at the port or just otherwise convenient for you?
