Hi all

Just after some advice really. We are hoping to go back to Disney Nov/Dec 2013 for 3 weeks and I was thinking of doing a split stay. I thought half the time at POR and the second half at AKL. Just wondering if anyone can see any problems with this? I did a split stay for our honeymoon, 3 nights CBR, 4 nights POFQ and 7 nights GF and I actually loved the splits as it gave me something else to look forward to, plus I love trying different hotels. However this time we will be travelling with our son who will be 2 years 8 months and we will be relying on transport. I love Port Orleans for the DTD boat, and there never seems to be a long wait for buses, plus they do have a decent food court. I also love AKL as I love the restaurants there, and the whole look of the place but I am a bit concerned about location as it does feel a bit far out. With our son being young I know we will have to go back for nap time/pool time etc so I don't want to be spending half my time travelling, although we will be 3 weeks on Disney property so it probably isn't that big a deal. Just wondered what you all thought.

Am hoping to book it tonight as I know the free DDP runs out today. Does anyone know if I can book a split online with Disney UK? Want to do it online as I get Quidco plus my phone is down so can't make the phone call :0( If not, do you think I should book for one hotel now and call to split my stay? If I do this would they still honor free DDP?

Thanks

My only concern about split stays is the expense, as you would have to buy two separate lots of park tickets for your two separate stays, that can make it a lot more expensive as you can't buy a 21 day pass to cover the three weeks in two hotels.Well thats what i was told last year, please correct me if I'm wrong.
As far as Animal Kingdom is concerned its a beautiful resort i would stay there in a heartbeat:)

Oh crap! I forgot about the two seperate ticket thing. Why do they do that? I totally forgot about that silly rule :0( Now I don't know what to do. AKL is coming out about £800 more for the three weeks but I am worried I would miss the location of POR and the boat to DTD. Doubt I can afford WL which is the next deluxe up in price. Stayed at OKW when I was pregnant and although I really liked the resort, found the buses a bit of a hit and miss coming back and we would need a one bed at least this time which would bring the cost up.

ETA Actually just checked the price of WL and it is only an extra £120 to stay there so am now thinking maybe that would be a better choice based on the location and boat to MK. Plus a lot of our dining options are around the Poly, GF, Contemporary etc. Although I am not too sure about the dining options at WL. I LOVED Artists Point but didn't care for WCC. However love Jiko and Boma, ah decisions!!!

Hey Summer :)

Deffo go with WL over AKL just because for the reason that you stated going back for naps etc... I love AKL but we tend to just hang out there in the afternoon after being in the parks and we always have a car so that makes life easier but it sounds like you are relying on Disney transportation so WL would be great and it is my most favourite resort to stay at during the "Holidays" lots going on in the lobby a lot of the nights.

If relying on Disney transport I would pick WL too - some of the boats you can roll a stroller on without folding. You will also be closest to the park you will spend most time in.

Never had a problem with the buses at OKW but as we have a car don't use them very often.
