We love Chef Mickey's and plan on going there also. Are they similar?

Go to Boma! This was the most pleasant surprise on our last trip. You do not have to be adventurous to eat there. Many items are available that we would consider everyday fare or similar. The kids bar also has some plain entrees. Try the stews. If you like any of the dishes you can fill out a card and the staff will e-mail or send you the recipe.

I would add Boma to your plans!

We went there last Monday while at WDW. we at first had a table behind some of the posts, but asked to be moved because it was WAY TOO DARK. They quickly did. This did not effect our thoughts of the restaurant.

We liked the food and will go back again in the future.

Thank goodness they are not similar at all. IMHO Chef Mickeys has food 10X worse than our local Ryans (which I refuse to eat at).
Boma food OTOH is wonderful, fresh hot and tasty.

Really good stuff at Boma. Less kid oriented though (no characters).

If you have a taste for Mid-Eastern and Tropical flavors, you have to try Boma. It isn't for everyone, some people are too used to the taste of American cuisine. And very few so-called international restaurants offer their menus without American influences!

Boma is very pure and African, except for that section that has to cater to the mac & cheese and fried wings club.

And I am still dying to find that recipe for the Nigerian plantain soup!

Go for Boma!! It's waaaaay better then Chef Mickey's. I don't usually care for buffets but this one is the exception. I think it might even be the least expensive one.

Chef Mickey and Boma are like apples and..... not oranges.... Kiwi fruit!

I don't think any one has yet mentioned that there is no character meal at Boma, though there are both breakfast and dinner buffets. If you are looking for characters, they are not at Boma, but the food is amazing and it is worth trying for that as well as a chance to see the AKL.

Have fun!
