Tomorrow is my birthday and we have been toying with driving from phoenix to DL all week now. I would get in free, and we have some left over days on our WDW 10 day non expiring passes ive read can be converted for admission for everyone else.

What are the crowds like this week? We are still not sure about driving out to go, especially since we are going to WDW in 93 days and are saving for that as well, and with this economy.

any info would be great!

If Sunday was any help for this...go EARLY, do a lot in the morning, drink lots of water (being from AZ I'm sure you won't find it as hot as I did though), and have fun. Getting there EARLY is important, though. We got there on Sunday at just after 9, and we were sent to Garden Walk instead of the main parking lots.

NOw, actually, that was fine. It was a shorter walk from the GW parking lot than it's been when we've parked at Mickey and Friends lot, but it was indicative of how busy things were, or were expected to be.

I'd go, have fun, just relax and enjoy. If you have tickets you can use then you're good to go.

I wonder if Mickey and Friends was really filled up at 9am or they just wanted people over at Garden Walk for marketing purposes.

I have not been to Garden Walk yet. I do know about the parking lot on the north side of Disney Way that opens on crowded days. Seems like a long walk without a tram.

Hey there,

I'm in the parks now and they are indeed crowded, but I wouldn't say terrible. I don't really have a perception of long wait times, since I mostly always go during peak seasons. Here are some sample wait times: Indy: 60-70 min, SM: 60-70 min, POTC, 15-25 min, Peter Pan 40-50 min. These are all around 2-5 in the afternoon, which are the busiest times.

It will probably be busy (I found Tuesday to be quite busy as far as crowd levels--it was difficult to navigate through Tomorrowland at 9 AM--but maybe Saturday and Sunday spoiled me, as they weren't bad at all).

If you can get to the parks early, or don't need to go on any of the big Fastpass rides that don't offer Single Rider, then go for it! (If you drive out from Phoenix on the morning of 6/24, then I think almost all the Space Mountain FPs may be gone, for example--they were up to like 8 or 9 PM by a bit after noon on Tuesday, I believe.)

There are lots of fun things to do without riding anything--we arrived about 7:30 PM Friday (which wasn't awfully crowded, granted). We saw some fireworks before the show was called off in the middle, saw Fantasmic, then did Small World, Star Tours, and Mr. Toad, as well as getting some pressed pennies/nickels on Main Street. (We were about 30 seconds away from the castle walkthrough too, except my companion was taking pictures left and right and so waiting for her, we missed slipping in before they closed the door. :headache: Obviously if we had tried we could have slipped into any other Fantasyland line before close.) And that was just on a low-key evening, trying to keep from being TOO exhausted for the next day.

Oh, and besides lots of water, wear lots of sunscreen...if you aren't used to spending a lot of time in the sun you should probably plan to reapply, or else plan to get a bit sunburned. I look a touch like this fellow...

Happy birthday, whatever you do! :cheer2:
