Thinking I should upgrade my DP...

We currently have the QSDP booked (2 adults and 1 Disney adults for 5 nights), but now that I scored the BOG dinner and also have 2 other places for ADRs, if I'm doing the math correctly, upgrading the the DDP would pay for itself rather easily. I think it'll cost about $350 for us to upgrade and, between BOG and the other 2, that difference should be taken care of and then we can do one more ADR without added cost. Am I figuring this correctly? Currently on hold with WDW reservations...

I agree with above poster and would pay OOP for BOG dinner. Keep in mind to calculate tips for all of your TS’s. We found what works best for us is the QS plan and make 2 TS out of pocket. That way we’re not tied down to so many ADR’s. QS plan was a ton of food for us. (And there’s a really good variety of foods at many QS restaurants.) Only my opinion though that worked for us (family of 4 Disney adults).

I had the QS free dining plan and upgrade to the DDP.. wound up costing an extra $40 a day for 2 adults.. now we are seriously conte.plating the DXDP if I am able to snag a CG brunch ADR for our trip. We love food.. we love to sit and enjoy meals when we are on vaca.. plus we have a 2yo who eats like a growing teenager and he can eat off of our plates. I'm booking TS ADRs as of I am on the DXDP and if I cant enay the brunch i will possibly be canceling a few!!

I assume you're no longer on hold, but thought I'd weigh in. Even with BoG not being a good value, if you've done the math and you know you'll "spend" more on meals planned than the $350 to upgrade, go for it!

I did decide to upgrade and I will definitely save money from the QSDP to the DDP. It'll be close on whether I save money overall. Doing quick calculations, with the alcohol component added in, I think I will get my value out of the plan. I won't know, for sure, until the trip is complete. The not having to keep a running calculator going in my head on the costs of every food item, or drink, that we buy=priceless. I feel a huge load taken off me right now. Thanks for your input!
