Thinking about trying HappyLimo this time instead of Tiffany...

Ok, maybe this is a question for the transportation board, but I trust my cruisin' friends here! Besides, the limo takes us to the ship, so it's partly a cruise question right?

Anyway, I am wondering about your experiences with Happylimo.
I have always been pleased with Tiffany, however I thought I'd try Happylimo and treat my family to a stretch limo ride this year!
The Towncars are fine, but why not go in style this time, with champagne and sodas waiting in the car for us? :)

Can you share your experiences/opinions of them with me?

Thanks!!!

Let me start off by saying we were overall very pleased with the service we got from Happy Limo...

That being said, we did have our problems...HL's fault or not, I don't know.

First, we had a 3-way transfer confirmed with HL. I did not call to double check on this the day before leaving, which I think I would do if we did this again. It was on my list, but I ran out of time.

We arrived at MCO and looked for a person holding a sign with our name...none. Got our luggage, turned down a skycap (luckily) and looked some more...none. Finally, I got our my cell phone and called their 800 number. The guy checked and told me they would have someone there in 5 mins...meet them outside, blah, blah, blah. Cindy was right in the spot he said she would be in, before we even got there! She apologized for having to bring the "old" limo and promised that we would get the brand new one on our next leg. (our driver had gotten held up with his previous customer) The limo was a bit worn, but heck, it was a limo and the kids loved it! Cindy was FABULOUS!!! First she took us to Albertson's as requested and even offered to keep our kids with her in the car so dh and I could go in...we passed on that offer...dh and ds went in. She had the Sierra Mist waiting for each of our 4 children, again, as requested. (SM is not one of the regular beverages offered) She also had Dinosaur in the tape player for them. She told the kids where to look and what they could see. She had them kneel and look out the front windsheild as we passed into the Magic Kingdom! She told them to scream when they crossed in. (my kids barely made a sound...she expected big screams!) Cindy made up for any problem we had. She delivered us to the GF and we were all very "Happy"!

Second leg, the guy (I have no idea what his name was) was right on time to pick us up at the GF. He took us to the port after another stop at Albertson's. Very courteous service. Oh and YES, we got the "new" limo on this leg. It was very nice. We all arrived very "Happy"!

Third leg, we got off the ship and saw a HL arriving at the Port. We figured it must be our ride. Well, there was also another family there waiting for HL and they thought it was their ride. It turned out to be neither one of ours...it was for the Ellingson Party. We waited. I guess the other family was picked up. We waited. Finally, after many attempts, I got through to HL on my cell phone. The guy checked this time. He was gone quite a while. When he came back he sheepishly informed me that our driver had picked up another family by our same name and was headed to the airport. I informed him that they were not us and we were still at the port!!! (I was very nice as I said all this.) I then went on to tell him that there was a HL driver here waiting for the Ellingson Party and they were no where to be found. He told me to go with that driver, he would radio him and let him know to take us to the airport. The driver told dispatch that we had been staring at each other for about a 1/2 hour!
I don't know who's fault this was. It could be blamed on the Ellingson Party for not checking to be sure they had the proper driver...or not wanting to wait for their driver. Or it could be blamed on the driver for not checking to be sure he had the right passengers. We had plenty of time until our flight and it didn't bother us too much about waiting.
Overall we were "Happy" with "Happy"...even though 2 out of 3 times, they were late. We were on vacation and we weren't going to let any little things worry us. The limo's were wonderful! Even dh, who was very worried about the extravagance of the limo, was very pleased to by-pass the very long Mears line and have personal service from Happy Limo. He commented that it's the only way to go.
Keep in mind, we had 6 people and the limo wasn't much more than the Disney transfers would have been and we were on OUR schedule not someone elses.

Beano, you'll have to decide, but I truly was pleased enough with Happy Limo.:D

Oh, and one more thing...gratuities are already included in the price. (not the prices on the website, but on the price you are quoted when you reserve.) They add 20% so you don't have to worry about tipping when you arrive anywhere. It really was nice to not have to fumble with a tip at the end.

Wow - thanks for the great detailed account! :)

Sounds similar to our experiences with Tiffany - little boo-boos but nothing catastrophic. I know that Tiffany has limos also but the last time we used them, the driver was so horrible it made me think that it's time to give someone else a try.

I love the thought of having cold cokes (and beer!) waiting for us in the back of a big limo. It should be a nice surprise for my wife and kids. And, it not all that much more expensive than the towncars.

Thank again... anyone else??

We use Happy Limo a lot...usually the towncar, but a couple of times we have been upgraded to the stretch limo (I have pics. of it on my website). Boy, was that classy! Video player and tapes, soda, and even a digital camera. They have always been on time for us and given us great service, even tho' we do some weird transfer combos. You should have seen us the first time we went to Shirley's store! The driver knew the street, but we were all keeping our eyes peeling for the correct strip mall (it can be hard to see the exact addresses when the buildings are set back off the street).

I just got an email confirmation yesterday from Happy Limo, and it was for $93 one way. I was told that the tip was not included, and that they recommended giving 20 percent. What is up with this?

These are the rates I was quoted for August:

Happy Limo:

MCO to Yacht Club $45 (stretch limo add $45)
YC to Disney Cruise $90 ( " " " $70)
Disney Cruise to MCO $85 ( " " " $60)

Total $220 minus $10 multi trip discount = $210 (does not include 20% gratuity)

Tiffany:

The round trip in the towncar is 205.00.
The rate for the limo is 385.00 plus 20%.

we are taking it one way in a town car from the resort to the pier...

I can't say anything about Happy limo having never used them but I can tell you about Tiffany and Your Ride. We used Tiffany 2x's. the first was excellent which propmted the 2nd. The second was another story. They were late picking us up from our resort, almost got in a wreck on the way to the airport and the driver never apologized. Your Ride was great the first time we booked them, we even called the night we arrived and asked them to run us over to Disney last minute and that went great. Our second trip with them was just as cheap and reliable. Check them out!!! If you get Jimmy he is so funny and he will ask you who he looks like. If you get Rabbit tell him Nervous Tina sent you!
