Thinking about taking the plunge on a 4-way split stay

Just did a 2-way split stay at Poly and BC and loved it. We didn't find changing resorts to be a hassle at all (used bell services to transfer luggage).

To the contrary, we found that it minimized the overall abount of hassle in our vacation because we were almost always close to the parks and restaurants we planned to visit (we like to do parks from RD to around 2, R&R/swimming in the resort from 2-5, followed by a nice dinner - we prefer dinners in the resorts to the parks because we think, on average, the food and overall dining experience is better in the resorts).

For our next trip, I originally thought about doing a lodge-themed split stay at WL and AKL because I really love the theming of those two resorts. But I just can't bear missing out on Poly & BC because I love the theming of those as well (particularly Poly), plus they're just in such great locations.

So I thought, why not do a 4-way split at all of these resorts?

Anyway, here's the tenantive plan (over 10 nights):

WL 2 nights (dinners at Hoop Dee Doo and Artist Point)
Poly 3 nights (dinners at 'Ohana, Citricos, and Cali Grill)
AKL 2 nights (dinners at Boma and Jiko)
BC 3 nights (dinners at Yachtsman, Flying Fish, and Monsieur Paul)

Our transfer day from WL to Poly will likely be mostly a rest day with a late breakfast at Kona followed by a brief foray into the MK for a couple of hours, then back to Poly for R&R/swimming.

Our transfer day from Poly to AKL will likely involve going to EP in the morning via the Monorail, then, in the afternoon, taking a bus to AKL.

Our transfer day from AKL to BC will likely involve going to EP in the morning via the bus, then, in the afternoon, walking over to BC.

We'd mostly focus on visiting MK during our WL and Poly stays, visit AK on the day between our two nights at AKL, and then finish off at EP and HS during our BC stay.

We realize that our bags may not show up at the next resort until around 5 pm. This is no biggie for us (we just bring our swimsuits with us on the transfer days).

With all that being said, I still can't decide if we're crazy.:rotfl2:

Do it, sounds like a good time. We were planning a split stay but decided to rent DVC points to save some money. I was thinking of maybe doing a monorail split stay at Christmastime, 3 or 4 days at each. The only deluxe we haven't stayed at is The Grand Floridian which I look forward to staying at. Goodluck and I hope you give us some details of how it goes if you do end up doing it.

I am planning my first split stay with 5 nights at BC and 4 nights at Poly and I can't wait! I have wanted to do this for a long time, but just never did until now. I would love to do a four split stay the way you are doing it. I think I would ideally like to have two more nights, so an extra for both WL and AKL, but I think 10 days is ok.

People talk about it being a pain, etc., but I've done "split stays" when traveling in Europe, Canada and Africa (and those involved not only multiple hotels, but multiple plane rides, extensive traveling and customs), so I think when you have the option to have bell services deliver your luggage and all that is involved is packing up a suitcase and taking a different bus "home" that day, I think it's a great way to experience multiple resorts on one trip.

I saw on one of these boards someone talked about packing cubes. I had never seen them before, but after taking a look, I am thinking I may invest in a few to make a split stay easier. We are doing a DCL cruise in May and staying at MCO Hyatt the night before, and then once on the ship we will have two staterooms. And then in August we will have two rooms at BC and two rooms at Poly so I am thinking these cubes might make life easier if everything can be compartmentalized. Might help on a trip with four different resorts.

As long as you organize and pack accordingly, I think it sounds great!

We did a 4 way split over 9 nights last June and it was no problem at all. No real lost time as we always did the park we were near, just like you plan to do! :thumbsup2

Have fun! :goodvibes

LOVE IT! Sounds like a blast. Go for it!

We did a 4 way split last year. BW/HRH(universal)Poly/YC. In that order. It was great. I think most of the negative comments come from people that haven't tried it. It really is fun and simple. I say go for it.

I think it sounds like fun. We seriously considered a Lodge split for this coming September, but the pricing and our love for WL kept us there. I think those 4 resorts sound like a way of getting the best of everything, go for it!

We are doing a 5-way this summer (AKL/DCL/BC/HRH/Poly) over 3 weeks. It does seem crazy but if we visit the close parks it negates the amount of time we waste moving to the new resort. We have done two 4-way stays before w/o any problems. It's 5-way this year because we are going with some friends that want to go to Universal and we wanted to end our vacation at the Poly or GF after the friends went home. Well planned split stays have worked well for us, so I wanted to chime in with one families experience.

We did a CSR/WL CL/DCL/BC CL split. 17 nights, but your trip tops that :worship: Have a great time. :thumbsup2
