Thinking about staying offsite, question about location

Our past few visits to WDW we have stayed onsite and with two little girls , it was very easy to get there at park opening ,stay a few hours ,then take an afternoon break, After that we would go back around dinnertime to the parks.

I'm thinking about staying offsite for a short trip this summer. We'll probably go to MK 2 days,then Sea World for a day. Not yet sure about the 4th day.

I'm wondering what area is the quickest to get to MK? Lake Buena Vista? I192 area?

How long does it take to get to the turnstiles at MK in the morning? And is it a hassle to go back and forth for the afternoon break?

We've stayed offsite many times both in LBV and along 192. From either area, you can be at any of the Disney parks in a very short time, in many cases even quicker than if you were staying onsite. MK, of course, is the one park that takes a little longer. When you are onsite, you can take a bus right to MK. From offsite, you need to park at TTC and then ride the monorail or ferry to the front gate.

We often take a break mid-day and go back in the evening, even offseason when park hours are short. It really is not a problem no matter what the onsite devotees say.
