thinking about port orleans

hi, after some plans got switched we now get to stay onsite, we originally had 2 parties of 5 coming and now we are down to 6 total. i'm cancelling my ressies at Double tree guest suites in Downtown Disney and want to go with port orleans riverside. My mom is coming with us and is a huge fan of the south! she is paying for the trip as a gift to her grandchildren so i thought this would be nice for her too. anyway, i'm looking at booking online at the price of $94/night. Is there a place on the online form to put in that i want to stay at the mansion section of it? also my dh will be flying down and meeting us for 3 nights, we want to get a 2nd room for when he and my brother come down, is it possible to get two connected rooms even though we will only need the 2nd room for part of our stay? thanks for any help, i'm new to these boards and don't really know my way around yet. LOL

...whether you can do this online or not, but one thing I've done with special requests is to fax them to the room controller five days prior to your arrival. When I have a *really* special request, I've followed the fax with an Express Mail copy of the fax to the resort. If you don't have the fax number to your resort, I think Deb Wills' site has a list of numbers. The URL is www.wdwig.com.

Disney is pretty good about trying to get you what you request. Whether or not you will be able to get a connecting room with your brother for part of the stay will probably depend on occupancy. After you check in you could check with the front desk. If you are willing to move to another room to get connecting rooms, let them know that, too. They may then be able to get you what you want.

I'm not sure about special requests for online bookings so I can't answer that. You can always call the hotel 3 days before arrival and make sure they have your requests in the computer. That is about when they transfer the reservation directly to the hotel, I think.

You will enjoy Riverside. And, if the FQ is open when you are there be sure to stroll down there. The grounds are also very nice.

For requests, whether you book online, travel agent., or on the phone, you need to fax your request to the room controller 3-5 days before arrival. And keep in mind that though they usually honor room requests, you are not guaranteed.

I am not entirely certain how to go about getting the adjoining rooms for the 2 seperate reservations. Perhaps on your room request you should list both reservations and say that you want rooms that are adjoining.
