The twins will be 11 that is one thing and I want to go to the SD Zoo. Also would love to go to Malibu Beach, so with keeping with all that..

Fly into where, doesn't matter which I go to first?

How far is SD from Disneyland?

Need a car so will have to check prices but they are not out yet for next year I am assuming..

Really thinking about the Candycane. Only intend on going to DL for 3--4 days and the others inbetween there and SD. Probably staying about 8 days

Is driving up the coast as cool as they say and does it work, traffic wise.

A few things to keep in mind. The drive from Disneyland to San Diego is about an hour and a half. You should be able to book you reservations 330 days in advance. Book early it will save you money. With car rentals after you make the reservation you can call back to see if the price has gone down. You want to fly in and out of the same airport because one way car rental rates are always higher. Have a great time . one more thing take advantage of the fast passes they are great.
