Thinking about more points!

This is exactly how we feel about BLT. For me I need the feels. So while I will stay at BLT it’s not something I would own.
I’m confused by this… Wondering if I am missing something? Are you saying that because you would not want to stay there often?
I really wish the walkway between BLT and CR was enclosed, but we like the bustle at CR and being able to have the quiet of BLT when we want to go back to our room.

BLT just didn’t give me joy like Boardwalk did when I was deciding which to buy. The walk to MK was nice but not as good as I was expecting. The rooms at BLT were great. The contemporary to me is just like a mall or airport. BLT lobby is lackluster. Overall we really liked BLT but the Boardwalk gave me that warm and fuzzy happy Disney feeling.

How would you compare the pools at BLT and GF? One of the things we like about BLT pool is the wide steps to sit on or get in and out and also decent food at the pool. We’ve never been to the GF pool, but it did not look like it had much seating and the pool looked pretty small.
We like the Courtyard Pool, but there is also the Beach Pool.

I’m having a hard time processing someone writing they prefer the BLT pool to the Grand Flo pools….

But, if you like the BLT pool, are MK focused, and it fits all of your other criteria then I say go for it! It has a lot of positives.

BLT:
1) Lowish upfront ppp
2) Lowish dues
3) Nice new refurb (home run, IMO)
4) Great for Magic Kingdom
5) Layout of villas (extra bathroom)
6) Reasonable point chart
7) Electric Water Parade (I love this darn thing, although it works for almost all MK resorts)

Cons:
1) Boring, absolutely no “feels” on property
2) Sad pool
3) You have to go over to the Contemporary for EVERYTHING
4) The main Contemporary area is just a sad place, IMO.
Cant argue with any of that.

For us, our unquestioned favorite part of WDW is WS in EPCOT. And if we are split staying near MK, I’d rather be at Poly or GF.
Not CCV or do you feel that’s its own beast?
I’m not sure what my issue is with Poly & VGF, but neither “feel” like Boardwalk. :)
And I want to love Poly so much, but every time it just feels like a let down.

Of course, we are BW people… and are quite happy having groceries delivered or using all of EPCOT as our quick service.
This, so much of this!! We had a 2bdrm BW view under “the waves” and it was magical, a little far to walk for the lobby, but otherwise amazing!!

I did like the quietness of going back to the room at BLT, but I do agree Contemporary is a mess.

100% (although I really love Steakhouse 71 to go)
We just got back from. Kidani Savanna view, Boardwalk view and BLT Themepark view, all nice, but Boardwalk just feels like home.

It sounds like BLT is a fantastic fit for you.

We live in the Pacific NW…. these are views from the golf course I belong to. There is no need to vacation at a place themed to where I live. IMG_3822.jpegIMG_3820.jpegIMG_1684.jpegIMG_2163.jpeg

I agree, the walk is not that awesome. I absolutely love the BLT rooms though, and the lake view. I think I just really liked the mid-century modern style. I also had good food at the Contempo Cafe and liked the gift shop.

Im starting to like my first born again

When we stayed two nights at the GF, it was unusually cold! We put our feet in one pool ( near BPK) but it seemed very shallow, like not even up to an adults waist? And we only walked into the main pool area to look and despite the chill it there were people there and it seemed tiny for such a big resort. To be fair, we did not spend any time actually at the pools that’s why I am trying to ask about it from people who have stayed there.

If money was no object, I think the GF would be my top choice. I just loved walking around there, and we like the dining options, but BLT has a lot of outdoor space and a nice walk to CR too…
Why do people not like the BLT pool ?
