Thinking about making the leap to Mac...

Hee hee. I still have my MacBook Pro box for no good reason other than I like it.

Oh wow-I thought I was the only goofball that kept the box!!:lmao:

I told myself that I was keeping it for when I moved!

Wow, this thread has been informative and entertaining. ;) Thank you all for the input and opinions, I really appreciate it. I've decided to go Mac. :woohoo:

Good points on the new Air too...I wasn't in the market for one but find what it's missing interesting. Very cool looking but not practical.

Thanks again!
I think there is a market for it.
It would not be a good computer if it's your only computer. That's when you would really miss the things that are missing.

For my PowerBook, I seldom ever use more than one USB port at a time, so I could get by with only one. Once I had the software loaded onto it, I haven't used the DVD drive/burner very often, so 'borrowing' one wirelessly from another computer might not be that bad. One of the other ideas I have read behind not having the optical drive is that many people are loading software on the internet now anyway.

My workplace provides an HP laptop for me to use. The only time I've had to use more than one USB port was when I have it in the dock and have to use one of the USBs for the keyboard. I seldom have used the CD drive.

One thing I just thought about was when Apple stopped putting floppy drives in their computers. A lot of people thought that was the most stupid idea they had ever heard of - how would people do without it? But, you don't see any computers with them any more..........

I have my Powerbook box.
I also have one of the original ibooks from the first year they were out. I kept the box for that too. It's just too cool to get rid of.

My DH threw out the box for my ipod though:scared1:

Welcome to the dark side MaryAnn!! Once you go Mac, you'll never go back! ;)

Oh...and I still have my box too...hehehe...for both my Macbook and my iPod! Not sure if DH still has his boxes for his 60g iPod video or his iPod touch though...

I will tell you, and I don't know if anyone else has experienced this or not, but on my Macbook, i've recently found two cracks in the plastic on either side of the mousepad. The cracks are right where the two tabs on the lid close over the bottom...does that make sense? I've found a product online that works as a shield for that area though. I think it's around $20. Has anyone else purchased one?

I have the box for my MacBook Pro. I kept it because of the sticker they put on the box at at the Apple store as proof that I had purchased it. It said "Lucky You."

I felt that way that day.:)

I just love Apple packaging. When I got my first iPod back in 2003, I opened up the box and it simply said, "Enjoy." Hehe, I remember thinking that was awesome.

Then when I recently got an iPod Touch, the box said, "Have fun."

So cool. :thumbsup2
