I'm thinking about planning our second trip to the world this time in December Heres a few questions I have.

On our last trip I was bummed we did not make it to the water parks because we were so overwhelmed with everything to do.

I don't expect to go everyday but what are the chances that we get at least one good day to go to the water park?

How is Disney the week after thanksgiving?

How is the weather?

Are they already doing the Micky Christmas Party already 1 week after Thanksgiving?

Unless you plan to use all your Waterparks and more feature at least 2 times whether it be one day at waterpark and one day at Disney Quest, it might be a better idea to just wait buy a one day ticket the day of to the waterpark of your choice. I believe the Waterparks and more option is $52 and a one day waterpark ticket is $42-$45. That way you can wait and see if the weather co-operates for you or you probably could add the Waterpark and more feature when you arrive at Disney. No need to commit at this point.:upsidedow

At this point its a matter of going during that time or not.I need to compromise with the wife she would really like to do the Christmas party and I want to do at least one water park

Yes, the Christmas party is already going on the week after Christmas. They also tape the Christmas Day parade and festivities the 1st weekend in December and if you're lucky, you may be able to get complimentary tickets for the filming. We were there for it this year and we saw the Celine Dion taping - it was wonderful. Also, the weather you can never be too sure of that time of year. This year, that week had 1 or 2 days around 80 but the rest of the week was pretty chilly.

I have gone the 3rd week in November and 2nd week in December in past years. Neither trip had a warm enough day for a waterpark - in my opinion. BUT, there were abnormal low temps when we went in November (and of course it warmed up our last day - but still only in the low 70s, not warm enough for a water park for me)

I'd say your chances are about 50%. There's just no way to predict what the weather will be like.

We have gone the week after Thanksgiving and it was wonderful. All the Christmas decorations and activities were up and in full swing. Crowds were terrific. We were able to swim every day (temps were in the 70's).

We have also gone the 2nd week of December and while my kids were happy swimming in the pool, it was too cold for my taste.

It also seems like the past two years the winter months have been exceptionally colder than normal in Florida (just my observation).

If you're a person who needs really hot weather to swim or enjoy a water park and visiting a water park is a deal breaker for you, I'd go during another time. If not, then I'd definitely go during that week.

We keep the water in all the slides and pools around 80F (27C) except for Shark Reef which does not have heaters. What you want is a day that will be bright and sunny and preferably not windy.

If you go on a day that is heavily overcast you will not be able to take advantage of any radiant heating (from the sun) or on a windy day (especially with a dry wind from the North) you will get hit by wind chill.

But a day with the highs in the mid-50s or above which is sunny and calm most people (at least from Northern climates) should be comfortable.

How do you get the tickets?? Do they hand them out randomly while you are in the park?

Last year we went nov 29th we LOVED it! It was nice during the day chili at night tho. Crowds were great the only ride we waited for was toy story. We also did the Xmas taping lines were not bad.
