Thinking about flying SW with 3 children-Help

Does that mean you don't have to print your BP when you check in online? I've been worrying about my printer running out of ink as I'm printing them...Can you check in online and get your "A" and then have SW print the BP at the airport?

Thanks (first time flying SW...)

Yes, that works just fine, especially useful if you check-in from your phone.

I've never flown SW and I definitely understand the advice on this thread about being at your computer 24 hrs ahead to get the "A" boarding pass...but I have a question. On the way to WDW, that makes sense. On your way HOME from WDW...how are you getting an "A"? Going to the checkin/checkout desk at the hotel at the 24 hr mark before your return?

I have my friend do it at home at her computer, then I don't have to worry about scheduling it.... once you get to the airport, they will reprint it for you, no big deal. I don't think we even had to go to the counter to get it reprinted, just used the little touch screen thing.

Depending on where the OP is flying from, she may be on a flight that already has a number of A's already printed. For instance, I am leaving from DTW at 6:30 a.m. and changing planes at MDW or BNA or STL and that connection may not leave until 10:00. Those of us who checked in for the originating flight out of DTW will have also received our boarding passes for the 10:00 flight at 6:30 a.m.

Best advice is to prepare your children for the chance that they MIGHT not be in your row.

Nope you don't have to print your Boarding Pass at check-in. If you're checking bags there is in fact no reason to, as you'll be given the chance to print a BP when you check your bags. Since I'm usually using the cell phone check-in from some odd place, I rarely have a BP before I get to the airport.

These are all good things to know. :) We're flying southwest for the first time at christmas. We have 6 on our party. 5 are immediate family members. Our youngest is 2. So even if by some odd chance we don't get in the A group, we'll be allowed to board before the B group correct?

Parents and children. It usually does not extend to grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.

I checked in for my return flight last week at City Hall at MK. They even printed it for me. In the past I have checked it at resorts, downtown disney. Whereever you are when the 24 hour mark hits, it's easy to find someone to do it.
