We currently have a 10am ADR for Chef Mickey's. I saw on allears last night that the price has just increased to $26.62/person. I think that is a bit expensive considering I hear that it has mediocre food and character interaction, especially if you are a party of adults, which we are. If we just grab a breakfast platter from the Mara that will more than likely feed two of us for only $8.29 + tax, we're saving $55. We can meet Mickey & friends in the parks (I'm especially thinking of the Epcot Character Spot, which I hear is rarely crowded.) Does anyone have an opinion?

Our other ADRs are:
Crystal Palace-Breakfast
Ohana-Dinner
Le Cellier-Lunch
Liberty Tree Tavern-Lunch
50's Prime Time Cafe-Lunch
Boma-Breakfast

Since you are not traveling with kids, then I would say cancel it. If you were traveling with kids, then I would say keep it to try it once. Character meals are a great way to meet with the characters without having to stand in line waiting for them. With that said, we had only eaten there once for dinner and thought that it was o.k...the character interaction was so-so and the food was typical to any other buffet. Now when we go to Disney in September, I had made ADRs for breakfast there (heard the food is a lot better then) because since we are staying at CR, we thought that it would be easy for us to get to, plus our kids requested eating there again. Have a great trip.

I would say keep it but that's b/c I would never base my decision on others' reviews. I may completely agree or disagree with a review, but if I don't have the experience to go on, I have to judge for myself. My family loves CM. I've read so-so food reviews and complaints about the noise, but I've never read negatives about the character interaction. That seems to be the 1 thing that people go for even if they don't like the food. All that being said, I find the food delightful. At the same time, I always see rave reviews about The Crystal Palace and I hated the entire experience there.

We just went for breakfast last week. I did feel like the characters were a little rushed. Breakfast was good but we liked Crystal Palace much better.
We've always found the Epcot character spot to be packed.
I think it's much easier to get pictures at the meals.
Did feel that $100 for a breakfast for 4 (with TIW) was a little pricey.

I said cancel it because when we were there last month the food quality was poor, the service was poor, the buffet area was a mess with food dropped and spilled all over the place and the character interaction was horrible. The characters stopped just long enough to sign our kid's books and take a picture. And I do mean "A" picture...the moment I snapped one shot, they were making their move to the next table. And Mickey totally skipped our table. We had to ask our server to see him, she was rude about it twice and then finally went to his handler to have him escorted over.

CM was our first breakfast and character meal of our vacation and it really started us out on a bad foot. DS is a Mickey fanatic and I booked that meal especially for him but it was a total letdown for us all.

Cancel. If you had kids it would be worth the trip. We did enjoy Chef Mickey's a great deal for dinner so I don't say cancel because of reviews.

We really enjoy Chef Mickey's for breakfast, dinner not so much. But if you would rather save the money, then cancel.

As for the character spot in Epcot, I have never seen it not completely packed!!

The character spot in EPCOT is fine if you go first thing in the morning. We had two EPCOT days last trip and one day we rode Soarin', Test Track, etc... and the other day we went right to the character spot. The characters there were GREAT - the best interaction of the entire trip. (Though, our friends did do pixie hollow and said that was EVEN better.)

I like meeting characters at meals, but there is a difference in the quality of photos and the quality of the interaction when you do a true meet and greet - they don't seem so rushed.

That being said - we did have a great time at the Garden Grill (EPCOT - Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale). We've been to Chef Mickey's twice and will probably wait a long time before going back.

Chef Mickey's is highly overrated. Crystal Palace is a much better breakfast!
