I don't think its nearly as bad as people keep saying.

Hey, if it were in some other park (say Universal) people would think it was fine.

STITCH has amazing technology.

People used to complain LOUDLY about how bad AE was (just as loudly as they do now about STITCH).

It must be doing well for MK... you can't seem to ride it with a FP much of the time, certainly without standing in a MOB SCENE of people.

STITCH is not my favorite ride, but I've seen much worse.

Me, I can't stand that ridiculous "end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it-if-we-build-stuff" propaganda film (with Timon and Pumba) at The Land in Epcot.

Now, THAT is torture. :rotfl:

In all honesty, the technology in AE far exceeded what is being done in Stitch... the ride is dumbed down a lot for younger audiences. Not enough surprises. How can your forget the alien licking your ear or breathing so slowly and heavily on you? That was great!! The only thing Stitch does is "bounce" on the seats (which doesn't even feel like it's actually happening), spit at you, and burp a chili dog at you. Not the most interesting, entertaining, or intelligent ride.

With that said, there must be millions of topics exactly like this if you just type it into "search." :)

and PS - I like the Circle of Life film.

I saw the Stitch encounter for the first time a couple of months ago, and I can honestly say that this is on my "not a favorite" list. I didnt care for this ride at all. I think we will bypass it next time and put our park hours to better use. We didnt have to wait for it though, only about 5 mins.

I didn t have a problem with Stitch and seven year old grandson was thrilled that Stitch actually spit on him.Wife and daughter hated alien encounter but thought Stitch was fun.

I never got my ear licked on AE, that I'd definitely remember. LOL I do remember having the alien BREATHE in my ear and yep, remember being spit on. My dad swore for the longest time that someone in the audience spit on him. LOL We kept explaining that it was the ride, but he insisted that someone in the audience spit on him. Go figure! LOL

As a techie and producer, I LOVE when people get so "lost in the moment" of a ride effect or show that they think its REAL!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

In scary version of AE, that was not the alien spitting on you. It was blood splattering from the person that was up in the rafters turning the power back on. The alien gobbled him up. It was a crunch and slat.

In the no so scary version of AE, i remember the lights were on a little, and in the sound track you could her people making jokes, like, "hey that looks like my mother in law." that was lame.

It's been a while, but I remember both the 'blood' and the jokes in the same show. I never remember actual spitting, just the 'blood'. My uncle swore that the guy who said the 'mother-in-law' joke was sitting right behind him.

The Stitch ride is ok, but the fact that they reuse SIR, Skippy, and a lot of the same themeing from AE is what annoys me about the ride. It's an example of a big budget getting trimmed repeatedly until not much is left.

Oh, and I never understood why Stitch had a chili dog -- they don't sell them in the park.

I think for us Stitch fans it was a disappointment. I had never gone on AE so I can't compare it, but it seems like they just replaced one alien with a fluffy alien. I also think they could have made it such a more interesting attraction considering how HUGELY popular the little guy is. Just disappointing.

that what make Disney so great. You can go on the rides or attend the shows you like.....and walk on by and ignore the ones you don't like.

I try everything once...if I like it I do it again. I will do Stitch again!

Is Stitch in the dark like AE was? My niece (4) doesn't like dark rides, she freaks out easily. If it's not in the dark I might try her out on it this trip.

Nah, I said Stitch spits on you. Yes the blood was my favorite part!! :)

Is it the same idea as AE? Will our 6 year old be able to do it? I was absolutely terrified of AE!!

I kinda thought Stitch was cool early on but, I just dont like it anymore.

The story is completely pointless and it's obviously not for adults seeking any excitement.

I also feel that the technology was better used in AE. The only thing technologically that I found amazing in Stitch was stitch himself. That is an amazing animatronic.

However, the effects in AE were so much more powerful. The "dripping blood", and most of all, and nobody has mentioned it, the shattering glass. That was great! The feel of it and the visual of it was so amazing you really questioned how it happened. Even though you knew it was fake, AE sort of always scared me a little, which I loved.

Stitch was nothing more than a low budget addition to get more families to go in it.

Hi Equidade!!

Going off topic here, but had to ask.....did you have your wedding at spaceship earth? If so whereabouts? Sorry to be nosey!!

I TOLD my DH there were two versions. The first one was better, I agree!

I had heard the range of opinions about Stitch, and we decided to check it out for ourselves on our last trip. I thought it was so-so - no major opinion one way or another. Some kids were very freaked out, some thought it was no big deal. Unfortunately, my DH hated it and then refused to go to any other show where he "might get water sprayed on him or smell gross things again", so Muppet Vision, HISTA, ITTBAB, etc. were out of the question in his mind. It was kind of funny - it was his first time to WDW, and we saw Stitch on the second day, so every single ride after Stitch he would ask "is anything going to spit on me or make me smell gross things in this?" and he'd sit out and read his book waiting for the rest of us if the answer was yes!

Yes, it is VERY dark in points. You hear him, but you don't always see him. My 9 year old was slightly nervous, but he doesn't have a real adventurous personality. If you are concerned at all, ride it first by yourself, then decide. Or just skip it altogether. :cool1:

AE was not my favorite, but I loved it compared to stitch. Enough said ;)
