Think positive SHORT IS GOOD ? ! ?

This could be a whole new thread, but what is it about these guys over 6' tall who can give us short women the most awesome hugs? I tell pepole that tall people have to look down on the world while us short people look up on everything. :p

I love being short, too! True, it is hard because I tend to "bulk up." Even when I'm in my best shape, I am not lanky by any means! But, I also love my boyfriend being a whole foot taller than me so he can hug me and make me feel tiny!

For those of you looking for the perfect petite section, check out Liz Claiborne Petites. I always find great clothes there!

I am curious about this child's rate at the buffet...I have never gotten that before! Maybe 5'2" isn't short enough.

Hmm...

Ashley:wave2:

Edited to add: I also love making tall girls upset when I won't date anything shorter than 6' tall! He he he... My best girlfriend is 5'10" and does not appreciate this at all! I just say I am working towards a middle sized future for the world.

Cvemom, my daughter has the same luck now, the capris are perfect for long pants for her, too.:) I can't sew worth a flip, so my mom has to hem things. With capris, that cut her load in half.:)
Kim (mom to a 4.8' 15 year old)

I agree, it totally widens up our choices in men. My first husband was 6'1" (I'm 5'0" as well) and my DH now is only 5'3". And I've dated everything in between. Height wise! LOL:bounce:

Plus I can ride all the horses! I don't need a 16 hand horse, but can do well on the tall one's too! Like my momma always said, "Good things come in small packages".

:earseek:

Reaching for things is easy, I have step stools all over the house! And several girl friends who are 6'0"! VIVA LA DIFFERENCE!

i am only 5'1 (on a good day!). i can't say i LOVE being short, but i don't hate it either. it doesnt bother me now as much as it used to because a lot of people who were once much taller than me have stopped growing while i'm still growing so there's not that great of a height difference anymore. the one bad thing about my figure is i'm short a curvy and it bugs me. i'm short and have a little waist but big hips so finding pants that fit is impossible!! i'm one of those annoying in-between sizes right now. i'm not a slim, but not a regular!! jeans are a nightmare!! another bad thing is that i fit into the petite section of women's clothes, but not the XS in the junior's clothes. a lot of the women's clothes are too sophisticated for me. it was crazy trying to find a graduation outfit! and most shirts are really long on me, but otherwise they fit.

besides the whole clothes deal, being short doesnt bother me!! it's a good conversation topic, and people just LOVE to tease me about it!! :teeth: :teeth:

I love being petite! I'm just not too crazy being short. It's hard to find a pair of jeans that will not require any hemmings. I'm 5'1" and I wish I could be 3 inches taller. I don't do high heels, so it will not add more inches on me. Wearing the latest styles from the juniors department works for me!

I like being short. When I was a little girl, I hated it though, for all of the obvious reasons, but mostly because that STUPID song "Short People" by Randy Newman was popular. Boy was that a nightmare!

I like being short, I can slip through a crowd (think WDW) easier than any tall person. The crowd doesn't even know I went through, except for the tall person I am dragging behind me who doesn't fit quite as well!
::yes:: I have noticed that too!

I still have trouble with pants fitting right (capris are a hair to short for my tastes... I wear tall shoes), and I agree with tigercat... many places think that short=small boned/skinny (blech)

I also have to agree with one who said that you get totally enveloped in hugs given by your SO. I love when my husband holds me... I feel so safe and secure :)

I'm just a hair over 5' and being short has also taught me how to hop up more easily on counters to reach the things on the top shelf ;)

I don't hate being short like I used to... only once in a while when people don't notice me in crowds and run me over with their elbows, or step right in front of where I was viewing do I get annoyed.

I can only think of one disadvantage of being short ... moving the car seat up, way up, so my feet touch the peddles ... then I'm almost on top of the steering wheel and dash board

I know what you mean. In the past, when I have test driven cars, I rate them as 'long leg cars' and 'short leg cars'. In 'long leg cars' I can't pull the seat up far enough to reach the pedals well, even when it's pulled ALL the way up. In 'short leg cars' I can pull it either nearly all the way or all the way up and be just fine. The only thing I hate is when DH drives my car and forgets to pull the seat back up. He has to push it way,way back on account of his being 6'1 with long legs like a grasshopper.:) The only person who I 'allow' to drive my car (other than DH) is our neighbor Ron who is just as short as I am and also resembles a bespectacled overgrown hobbit.:p

Have you noticed how all the short women end up with the tall men? I am 4'11 1/2". My DH is 6'.

If you're short, all your children want to sit behind you in the car when you're driving (all that room in the back when you pull the seat waaaaaaay up). Makes me feel loved.:sunny:
