I just changed our Chef Mickeys Dinner ADR for Chefs de France. I know the kids really wanted to dine with Mickey but I really wanted to do Chefs de France. We have 6 other character meals on our DxDDP so do you think this was okay?

do you have Mickey character meal on another day? What are the kids ages?
Have you been to Chef Mickey's before?

That would be my questions first. If you answered no, very young, and no ; then I wouldn't have done it.

We have eaten at Chef mickeys before. The kids are 1,2 and 9 and we do not have another Dinner with Mickey we have, Crystal Palace twice, Hollywood & Vine Break, Donalds Safari Break, CRT, Princess Storybook.

Mickey is at Tuskerhouse with Donald too. At least he was when we were there in Jan. :thumbsup2

I think they will be ok. Maybe if you can take them to a character spot before dining if you feel guilty or anything but...... it's your vacation too, not just your kids'. You have a lot of character dining otherwise, so have fun!

Plus, we love Les Chefs de France last year.

ITA with going to Chefs vs Chef Mickey's - esp if you have all those other buffet meals - you must've read some of the same dining reviews I read - I havent been back to CM in a long time - I know many love it, but it just wasnt for me...

I think I have been reading the same reviews, everyone saying break is great and dinner not so good. I figure my kids arent splitting out the 6k bill that im paying for this trip so they will just have to make do being at disney world and eating mac and cheese at some of the nicer places.

We like both places. I agree with PP if you can get Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto elsewhere no harm done.

1) It all depends.
2) If the answer to any question is "Yes", then change back to CM.
. . . are the kids more in quantity than the adults?
. . . are the kids taller than the adults?
. . . are the kids smarter than the adults?
. . . are the kids tougher than the adults?
. . . are the kids in possession of water pistols or water cannons?
. . . are the kids old enough to drive and leave adults stranded?

you have my :thumbsup2 ;)

you will see Mickey at Donald's breakfast and you will love Chefs de France.

i agree with pp...if you had no mickey ressie, i would say cancel storybook for it, but if your 9 year old is a girl, she would probably prefer what you did :cutie:

you can always claim you mixed up your chefs:lmao:

besides, Remy from Ratatouile movie is going to be at Les Chefs:thumbsup2

We always make our ADR decisions as a family, everyone has their say. I wouldn't dream of turning around and changing one, just because it was what I wanted to do. Yes, you are the adult and you are paying. But Donald's Safari Breakfast isn't Chef Mickey's.:guilty:

Why didn't you drop one of your Crystal Palace meals?

We sorta did make our ADR's as a family. My wife doesnt care where we eat as long as it isnt CS. But I did let our DD9 choose 4 places to eat and she wanted CRT, 50's PT, Coral Reef and Teppan Edo. I dont think I would have been able to change any of those without her consent. The two crytsal palace's ADR's are for Break.

Not sure the age of your kids, but the food at Chefs may not be to their liking. My kids went when they were young and were ok, but a nephew had a meltdown. He wasn't good at trying new foods and my kids had lived and traveled all over the world. Just a thought. We enjoyed it and you have to do what works for your family.pirate:

I think CM dinner is terrible...if you have another meal scheduled with Mickey I would not worry about it
