Back about 5 years ago, my ds moved to Tampa, from NE. He drove down, with all his possesions, except his cat. So....when I flew down to WDW about a month later, I brought the cat with me, and ds picked me up at MCO. I reserved the cat's spot on the plane as soon as I knew she was going with me. I deliberately chose a seat in the back of the plane so as to have as little impact on others as possible. When I checked what the situation was, the day before flying, I saw that I had people all around me. So, when I got to Logan, I checked at the gate to see if there were any seats open with on one around me. The gate attendent was quite snippy and asked if I had an issue with 'people'!!! No, just didn't want to take a chance the cat would bother anyone...either her dander or her possible crying. Sheesh...try to be nice and you get attitude.
Well....they were able to put me in the next to last row of the plane...no one behind me, no one beside me, or across the aisle. There was a couple seated in front of me though. I did ask them if they had any 'cat issues'..nope,they were good to go but thanks for asking.
I kept the cat carrier as closed up as possible...only one little flap was left open so as to prevent too much dander from escaping.
The cat was slightly traumatized by the time we got to MCO...she did cry upon ascent and descent..must have bothered her ears, poor thing.
I tried to be a responsible traveler...wasn't just taking the cat on vacation with me. There was a real need. Now...those people who travel with their little tiny dogs and let them out of the carriers in the rest rooms in the airports?? Or that hold their dogs on their laps on the plane??? Don't get me started!!!
