Things you'll never hear a DISer say...

I'm sure this thread topic has been done before, but here are a few things I've heard already in the 3 days I've been here at WDW:

1. To a screaming child in Sci-Fi Drive In--"No honey, you can't sit in the cars. Those are for people who made a reservation. Who knew you could making dinner reservations at Disney?"

2. A few people coming off Splash Mountain, to the rest of their family waiting for them, "That was a great ride, but the wait was forever! Those people with that FastPass kept cutting in front of us. I don't think that was fair! Where did they get those FastPasses, anyway? Did they have to pay for them?"

3. At the Riverside Mill in POR, "Here, go fill your mug (from Pop Century) with the soda."

I refrained from making comment, even though I was DYING to! What's worse is even my kids knew better... I don't know how I ever planned a WDW vacation before I knew about the Boards... And I do pity those who are wandering around WDW with little or no planning (even if it's only to have read these Boards!)

Thank you, DISBOARDS! :worship: :disrocks:
:sunny:

The funny thing is, except for the fastpass, I would have been that person over a year ago! These boards (and the Unofficial Guide) saved my life last year.

Sure we can go in Stormalong Bay, it doesn't matter that we're staying at Pop Century!

(spoken after walking out of Epcot)..."So you want to go to Disney World now?"

"When does the bus for Universal come?"

"WDW is for little kids."

"....we can just park our car at the Polynesian while we spend the day at MK..."

I have learned from this board to bring Crocs on vacation....wouldnt have even known what they were a few years back as they had not hit the Canadian market....

So....A DISer would never say....My feet are killing me!!!!

A DISer would be well stocked in comfortable walking shoes!!! :disrocks:

Don't pity them, be thankful because if everyone who went to Disney knew about FP, ADRs and everything else Dis'ers know about then it wouldn't be worth it. FP would run out at 8:05am for the big rides and you would have to make ADRs about 365 days in advance.

Consider it research, some do it - others don't.

I love when people say Disneyland when they are actually talking about Disney World. I just say the Disneyland is in CA, Disney World is in FL.

' Theres nothing to do in Epcot'
'Its such a shame you aren't allowed upfront on the monorail'
'Why do parts of Animal Kingdom look so run down? are they going to refurb it?'

Loved the ToT ride, but the lobby was filthy!

Dino-Land is just like those '50s roadside attractions I remember!

What's the sense in being at the turnstile at park opening?

How did you get this room for $145 while it cost us $190?

Where do I get the monorail to Animal Kingdom?

YEP! On the bus back to OKW one night I heard a woman telling her daughter all about the fun they were gonna have the next day at SAB. I really had to bite my tongue!

Walking through World Showcase, I've heard people mistake Canada for Germany, Norway for Canada, Japan for China, Germany for France, and Italy for Mexico.

Hopefully none of us tell our D-Kids "Sure, jump over the fence to watch IllumiNations".

1)Why is there no availability at the table service restaurants for walk-ups?

2) Spectromagic starts at 9, we should be able to get there at 8:30 and be fine.

3) WDW stinks, I only got to ride 5 rides all day--after we got there at 11AM and didn't use any fastpasses.

4) What IS the "best kept secret at WDW"? (j/k--as if anyone who's been to the world in the last few months didn't have that hammered into them over and over!)

"mmm where do you want to eat tonight? the castle looks kinda cool"

believe me when I say that I have heard TONS of conversations about where they wanted to eat dinner that night. I have even heard a wife ask her hubby to call to make a ressie and the hubby say that "they don't take reservations, we'll go over at 5ish" and YES!!! this was about CRT!!!!!!!!

Thanks to the DIS I do know about Crocs, it's still virtually impossible to get them in Belgium. But after wearing them 2 hours, my feet are still killing me two days later because of that nasty blister :(

So, what IS the best kept Disney secret? :rotfl: :rotfl2:

(really, if they still offer 100 disney dollars to find out about it at Disneyland next month, I'm going to set my mom up to go to the presentation, while I do some wild rides!)

My trips are definately more magical because of these boards! 10 years ago, we would just wait til we got to WDW to make our ADRS..now NEVER! Always 180 days before! So I'm a Disney nut, oh well!
